Pixel Art WIPs/Small Things Thread

I'm making a HUD for my game. Pipes are still rough, but I am going to bed, so this is it for now.


Someone pointed out that the face is similar to System Shock (which I haven't played), but idk, it's neat and I don't wanna change it. Game is an action/puzzle thing in which you use two characters together.

I decided to try making a template, and wanted some feedback. It's mostly unshaded, and the legs are starting to look squiggly to me.
The one on the very right has a width of 16 pixels and the other ones have widths of 15, leaving an odd, empty pixel when put upon a 16x16 tile, but I think the one on the right looks too fat. The head looks a bit big, too, but it's not an issue with the way I did hair on the example sprite. I'm also unsure if I want to put an extra pixel at the corners of the feet like I did in the example.

I got something new too
Just started doing an rpg mockup with the famous C64 palette and damn it's hard, especially the tilesets :x (and I suck at tilesets even without having restrictions! :P)

imo the characters are cute :3
(help, idk what to do ;-;)

I tried a little edit on your template. I'm terrible at explaining things so just see by yourself, I guess. :p

Even though it is bigger than 15 pixels width, imo it can look cool.
You can also use 14 pixels instead of 16 to make it thinner:

Sprited on a the atramentum template, and it's not perfect, or somewhat near perfect... Okay, it's never going to get that good but I want to be satisfied with it. Any Comments?

Contrast please,

You've got 4 shades of brown for the cape, yet they're really hard to distinguish. You could use 3 shades and add more contrast, and you'd have a better effect.

Her breasts are too far to the right, and are too small as well. Also, I don't know much about the character art, but those legs things don't look good.

Just a (mainly) colour edit. I also tried to change the shading and add some AA.
So yeah, as Jbrist said, you NEED more contrast. You also need more interesting colors ; your sprite looks really too greyish right now.

I'm trying to go for a more soldier type of thing, I'm not sure if a soldiers armour is supposed to be flashy or not... hmmm.

I'll see what I can do about the coloures and stuff...
