Thanks, warminghearts I was curious as to what frame rates you guys are getting.

I know you guys cannot test what is in those latest screenshots, but I get between 250 and 500 with those maps.
 
what this project needs is an RTP designed for it. I personally am starting to learn 3D modeling with Blender3D, but due to no computer currently since my OS cd is scratched, yet still was able to format my drive but not install... it looks like I'm unable to help in this aspect for the time being.

Perhaps it would be something for the whole RMXP.org community to pitch in with their own original models and graphics for an RTP for this? I don't have much authority in this, but maybe an admin would be willing to spring this idea upon the community once this project is released?

hey, give me some stuff to make for you, I own Maya 8.0 and actually got certified with awhile back. I can do all kinds of models and textures...

questions:

How much will this program support in regards to bump maps, parallax maps, transparency/alpha maps, displacement maps, multi-layered maps...

Will it support NURBS? Or Sub-D surfaces? Or just polygons?

What kind of poly/Sub-D count limits are you looking at? What texture size limits are you working with?

Can it handle non-manifold geometry? If so, how did you work that out?

Hehe, yeah I will be doing that as soon as I get a chance. I've been taking a break for a couple days 'cos I fried my head the other day with another project. XD
 
Given the interest this is drumming up, I don't see why Enterbrain aren't making a decent easy to use 3D game maker. Just a heads up I'm still watching intently Demon ¬.¬ Very intently.

Ricoman, those look pretty good. The only thing I see is that the red letters on the purple book are really bright and clash with the purple, which kind of hurts my eyes.

The textures look good.
 
Nice work, rico! I really like that you've kept the RMXP "feel" from the tilesets. I'd been watching this for awhile, but wasn't really interested because there wasn't much for content.

I.M.O., just became more interesting.

thanks theory, I love 3d modelling :biggrin: the textures take longer than the modelling sometimes, though :huh:

yeah, I will change the letters for those books, maybe use white or something that stands out better. I think it's fun that the only critique I got was the color of the book title was off
 
Nah, go with the darker purple and paler red like I said. Both the purple and red are too bright, and replacing one with white is a step in the wrong direction :P

Demon and Rico, this is phenomenal work! If the two of you go all the way with this, you'll have created an RPGMaker program better than EB could have ever imagined. That thought alone blows me away, that the two of you are better than a professional team.

Do you know if Anisotropic Filtering and Anti-Aliasing can be forced on RMXP? If they can, this could lead some to beautiful 3d games. Really impressive work guys. You really are working on something groundbreaking.

Both anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing will work :thumb:

Also, truth be told a lot of the code I am using is not mine. You see, the RMXP editors was already made, and the 3D engine was already made. I am only making the glue to put the two together.

Now that I did not know. Even so, the fact that you're the one making a proper 3D RPGmaker see the light of day rather than EB is more than commendable.

And that's great news on the AF/AA front. *Dreams of the beautiful possibilities...*
