Artbane, I have a question (probably asked a thousand times already) but how do you come up with all of these puzzles? They're incredible, how long does it usually take you to make one? and do you plan on making any tutorials?

Actually I did just answer the first part of your question here.

It really varies on how long each puzzle takes me. Sometimes I'll just have the project sit for weeks until I reach an idea I want to go forward with.

As for tutorials, I don't plan on writing anymore in the future.

Okay, I'm stuck in Arc II in the mines where you have to enter the right sequence of numbers relating to the numbers on the kidnappers back.

I read the earlier post regarding this (on page 1 of this topic) and I've thought about it and tried a ton of different combos. I thought I had it when Volrath said 3412 is very close, but I can't get it. Any more hints?

This is practically the answer, but, meh.
4 numbers, right? The first digit of each number denotes which switch to pull. The second number is what to set it to. Of course, you only have 3 numbers, but you can work out the fourth by using the leftover numbers.

Okay, I made the key and found the church and now I can't find the guy (can't remember his name) that I have to battle.

Is he in the cave behind the church? I hate these flipping mole holes!!!

As I'm guessing would have been expected, I decided to make this the first thread I visited upon my return to rmxp.  I owe both artbane and volrath an apology for disappearing during the beta test of arc IV, and not returning any aim messages.  Real life got the better of me for quite a bit, but I'm back, and glad to see the project still trucking along as it has been for the longest time.  Keep up the good work you two.  (and enkur with the art, of course)

Hey Monkey! Good to hear from you again as always. No worries about flaking out on the beta test. We had plenty of people in reserves. Keep dropping in here every once in awhile.

I thoroughly plan on it.  Been trying to find a compiled outdoor tileset so I can get back into basic to advanced mapping but I'm really itching to do something with rmxp again, even got a few ideas in my head circulating for a possible project.  But yeah I downloaded the super pack along with arcs III and IV and will hopefully start playing them tommorrow on my day off.

You should hold out for another month or two for when I release all the arcs together along with arc V. It won't be simply a compilation either. I have gone back and tweaked a lot of the issues with the earlier arcs as well as added some additional content. This goes for all people who are still contemplating whether or not to start playing MotW. Wait a little longer for the definitive version of the first four arcs along with arc V.

Which maps will you be revamping? I saw that you revamped Port Arianna. Will the be any others?

Also, will the be any other changes to the arcs from the originals?

Wait, the current incarnation of Port Arianna is a revamped version?! Damn, I'd hate to see the original, then.  :P I'm kidding, of course.

I wanted to do some more "Ask Volrath, and Artbane".

Question for Sir Artbane: Your main task in developing MotW is mainly gameplay-based, correct? Meaning, you take care of most of the dungeons, database, etc., right? Well, exactly how much influence do you have over the story? More specifically, are there any significant plot points that were entirely of your design?

Question for Lord Volrath(that work?): Random question: What is Laurel's favorite food?

I saw on the Solest forms your revamped port Arianna. Looks great.

And to answer Lord Volrath's question, I'm predicting it's ham

There are no other maps in the works for now. Port Arianna was the only one in dire need of a makeover. Here is an updated picture of the main part of town for those who didn't see it on the Solest Forums. The new map was by our friend Raven the Dark Angel.

There will be some minor fixes but nothing too major. I'll post a list of the changes when the final version is ready.

I'm just a sir and Volrath is a lord now? This is an outrage! From now on you will refer to me as King Artbane or Your Grace.

Even though Volrath gets most of the credit as the writer of the project, the story is both of our design. We both discuss plot ideas together that we would like to see in the game and then we decide on which ones will actually make it in. There are many plot points that came from my head; some of the juicier ones even. I don't feel the need to point out specific ones. The story is both of ours and I like to think of it as a collaborative effort rather than some of the ideas are his and some are mine. I even help dictate the dialog sometimes although Volrath puts his own spin on it being a master of words.

I have a question for Your Imperial Bane of Art  ;D.

Is any of Stoic's past to be revealed? As in, back when he was human?

Thank you for properly addressing me.

A large portion of Arc V will focus on Stoic's past, including his more lively years.

Thanks for answering my question, Lord King High-Emperor Artbane(;D). I had thought as much. The story seemed to be a bit too great to have been conceived, and executed by one person.

The new Port Arianna certainly does look nice. I can't wait to explore it! Another quick question: Will/Have the interiors for Arianna be/en redesigned? Most of them are fine, and all, though. The only one that is actually pretty bad is Torto's shop. It'd be fine if it doesn't get a makeover, though. I was just thinking that I'm sure that either of you guys could now easily come up with a much better map.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, watch it. The link works fine for me. Click on the "games" tab and you'll be able to download the files.

Also, Laurel's favorite food is rice. She doesn't discriminate, any kind is good. There was an entire section of the Ask Volrath thread on our site devoted to this...wish I could throw it up now.
