Master of the Wind

Master of the Wind (Complete!)

First, I'd like to say, that your work is immensely enjoyable. I don't think I've played any other game made with RMXP that is a fun as this one. In fact, it's a lot better than a lot of commercial games from the big publishers. Kudos.

I'm sorry to hear that you guys don't fell the same way about the community that you used to. I guess you guys are getting too old?  :D I'm kidding! I am glad that you're going to continue on with this project, until the end. The fact that this'll actually get finished, coupled with the sheer fun that comes out of playing it, makes me certain that it'll blow everything out of the water(unless Rye finishes 'Memento Vivere. ;D)!

I'm sure that you get praise like this all of the time, but I just wanted you guys to know how awesome I think MotW is, and how much fun I've had with it. I think... I think that you deserve a thank you!

So, Thanks, Volrath!
Thanks, Artbane!
And thanks, Enkur(Gotta love that art!).

Uh... that sounded awfully dumb.

Sorry for wasting two minutes of your life with this. O_O

Is it strange that when I posted my little nerdition(?!), up there, I hadn't even completed arc IV? Eheheh. I just really wanted to let you guys know how awesome this is.

I you don't mind, I'd like to point out some of my favorite parts from arcs III& IV(they're still fresh in my mind.).
The ending to arc III was terrific. I actually out out a gasp! And when I realized what had happened, my eyes started tearing up. For real. Of course, it was 4:00AM, and I get overly emotional when I'm tired. When I first encountered Gabriella, I'd never imagined that I would grow so attached to her.

I was literally smiling the entire time I was going through the ancient castle. It was just so fun, and imaginative, and the swinging ropes were a blast! I've always loved party switching puzzles, and these ones really took the cake.

Does Rana actually care for Bones? I mean, the way she acted when he confronted her was... Well, let's just say that I'm excited to see what happens between them next!

I'm hoping that you'll develop Laurel's character some more. I mean, she got a bit more depth during her scenes with Auburn, but she could still use some more fleshing out.

Well, not much else to do, except play through the existing arcs, again, while waiting for arc V to come out.

Oh, and once again, kudos.

ok is it just me or are ALL the links for the other arcs broken? ive only played arc 3 and want to play the others but ive yet to find a link to an actual site to download them. is it just temporarily down or is it just me? (if theres alternate links to a source hidden in the...55 pages of posts i apologize for being 'lazy' but internet connection is garbage atm) im using the links on the first page btw, all leading to those http 404 errors

oh and good job on the part i played, as you can see im very interested in playing the others =), ive yet to see a decent storyline since phylomortis II lol

Try the downloads on this page.
Thanks mucho, that was fast lol :) Time to play em, ciao~

wonder if the creator of the battle system is a big wow fan, notice some slight similarities to things in wow, (like the cape that uses the word 'nerf' in its description and monster techniques and such) on arc 2 now and must say im liking it so far (part 3 had a slower start, skipped most of the starting story due to 'testing the water' frame of mind)

ive been messing around with almost every rpg maker (console and pc) for years now but never came close to making an actual game, cant seem to find the maker that works best, well this game has inspired me to start working on an rpg maker game and if i actually finish it ill mention this game as one that helped inspire me in the credits :) ill probably either start with xp (meaning ill have to actually ditch my postality knights edition and get the legal one lol) or start writing my story now and wait for vx to come out in february (well that is if it doesn't cost $100.00....sheesh, 2 months for translation, no worries there!)

First of all, please don't double post.

'Nerf' is used in a lot of other MMOs, too.

Wait, you're on arc II, but you started arc III? Is that what you're saying? Why?

(meaning ill have to actually ditch my postality knights edition and get the legal one lol)

:-X

You really shouldn't be talking about pirated, or illegal software, y'know.

The double post was taken of, though be sure to watch that in the future. I'll let ArtBane answer questions about his influences regarding elements of the game's battle system/items should he decide to. And yeah, I wouldn't mention illegal versions of RMXP. I'll look the other way this time, mostly because I don't even know for sure what the new administration's policy on it is, but certainly don't make it a habit.

In any case, glad the game has provided some inspiration. We hope to keep delivering that kind of experience.

ok let me fix some things but first start by saying i rarely talk in forums so i apologize for the double post

havent really played any other mmo's other than wow, other things i noticed are that the hunter(the one with the cat douglas) uses freezing and explosive traps and sleep-inducing arrows and just some other small things, maybe its just me =)

as for the version of xp, sry bout that, ill be more careful about what i say, i plan on buying xp now that theres an english release, enterbrain rocks =)

for the confusion of arcs, i came across part 3 first without knowing there were other parts, i beat it and in the credits noticed "play arc IV' so i sought out the others, beat part one, and am now on part 2, probably going to play 3 through again before i start arc 4

The WoW influence is no coincidence. Before I started working on MotW, I spent most of my free time adventuring in Azeroth. Even though those times are over, their influence on me still remains. Those things you mentioned were certainly inspired by WoW but something fans may not know is that the Touten Corp is comprised of people Volrath and I met during our MMO playing days. A warlock played by yours truly also lives on through a certain necromancer in the game.

Not at all. This is the official thread afterall and unfortunately the Solest forums are going to be down for an extended amount of time.

Volrath came up with Grinfrak's name so he would know the answer to your question.

I think Volrath is better suited for answering those questions.

The links on the front page need to be updated but you can also find the games at our official site linked in my sig.

Okay, thanks.

1. Is there anyone in Solest who was inspired by Someone you've met?(Beside WoW characters)

2. How close is Solest to making a motorcycle?

3. Will Finley ever get said motorcycle?

1. Hmm...well nobody else as far as actual names go. I mean, Emma is kind of a compilation of a bunch of girls I knew in high school...and some of the main characters have traits of myself and ArtBane.

2/3. Not exactly sure...I suppose given the way the world seems to be moving, it could happen sometime during Finley's lifetime. Not soon, however. Hopefully he'll keep in good shape so he can ride it whenever that day comes.
