The closest place to me so far is Manchester.

Same here, fortunately I live in Cheadle Hulme. Not much around here too smash up. A Waitrose is the single biggest thing here, and even that is just food. If anything the closet place to me that will likely erupt is Stockport center.

Riot was somewhat caused by racism. Not racism like "he is black so let's beat him" but "anti-racism" like "white cop killed (accidentaly or not) our bro who was drug diller, thats racist, in that case let's start a fucking riot!".

That guy who was shot by police, Mark Duggan, was black. Right after that his firends etc. started messing up around.
I can even imagine that they will be speaking about police beign racist, because they wanted arrest some drug diller. ;x

I'm also talking about immigrants because of similar riots in France a few years ago. It was caused by immigrants from arabian countries and mob also was acting like today in England.

Oh come on. Immigrants are here because they want to be here. Most of this violence is caused by British people. Honestly, you can't blame everything on "dem people coming over here stealing our jobs".

That's debatable at best it was more that it was caused by something teens typically complain about and attach themselves to complain about. Unjust police brutality man. Racism sort of a side issue attached to that. But I've seen plenty of the riot photos and I see a lot of white kids in hoodies with some white blonde girls in hats taking pictures. This seems much more a hey gyus we can get shitted and rob a cellphone store, set a car on fire, and post vids on youtube so everyone will see how cool we are phenomenon. And there seems to be plenty of your good old white englishmen teen ready to answer the call to show their peers how badass and cool they are. The london arrest jumped to over eight hundred after being around 300 earlier. It seems quite clear that the same social media / sms capabilities that helped organize them are double edged which I'm sure will be left unsaid by a media that would rather talk about how ingeniously they organized themselves. Once the police get their hands on a few cell phones it was only a matter of time before they have a good idea of who else was out there. Kids are about to get a big lesson on how there is generally no such thing as complete anonymity on the internet.

Anyway it's raining, police have arrested gangs before they reached Wolverhampton, and all is quiet in the city. Sounds like it's going to be a good night.

You appear to be irony challenged. But aside from that, part of the problem is police can't clear out your looters because a large group of them choose to square off and block the advance of riot police allowing more property to be damaged and more things to be stolen by the cockroaches who choose not to square up. Breaking up these formations with dogs, water cannons, rubber bullets, or tear gas is a pretty routine riot control tactic. You want rioters to flee at a time of the police's choosing, so they go home and think twice about coming out tomorrow. If they are allowed to leave at a time of their choosing you have what you see here, the result of thugs believing they control the situation so they come out the next night and the next. Also water cannon hurts no matter which direction you are running in. In fact running from the watercannon has a high chance of face planting you in the concrete.

Also am I the only one amazed that the only riot control gear the brits have available is the sixties era water cannon? The city of Boston has tear gas, rubber bullets, and pepper pellets in its own arsenal and that's just for one city in the US.

I live about five minute drive from Enfield town center where the second day of riots burned down Krispy Kreme, as well as on other days a whole Sony Warehouse and a ton of other stuff. I've been out there cleaning up during the day in various places around London. It's been pretty horrific watching all this, my cousin's office's were pretty close to the Sony Warehouse. I've been around London as I said and seen the aftermath of all this. But it's far from over, there are people dead in my city because of these riots. At this point I'm refusing to call them rioters any more, they're not, they're Barbarians, who simply just want to pillage, steal and cause anarchy. There's a lot of police patrolling London these days, over 16,000 of them.

But what in one of the largest cities in the world, that's just not all the time. Enfield is pretty safe now because a bunch of us, decided to fight back against the rioters and help the police. I can only hope that this is all resolved soon.

The police have finally got enough people out there do some damage to these barbarians and hopefully if anything good does come of this, it'll have cleaned up a lot of the scum of the city and put them in a deep dark hole for a good period of time.

Just as an addendum to it all, I'd like to give a massive shout out and respect to the absolute HERO who went out to face the rioters, dressed as BATMAN! This man is my hero! I want to give him a hug!

Hopefully this will be sorted soon and we can return to our normal lives without having our family and friends cowering in their houses wondering if they'll be hit next!
