It's fine by me, I am just glad you did not let that stop you from staying with deadwater. I will look into the problem some more and see whats going on.

Hey everyone. Happy Halloween to those who celebrate it. Loving the skin and the avatars, why can't they always be like this  . Anyway, I'm back from my vacation, and I'll get round to posting that comparison shot soon. As LumberWarrior said, the forums aren't completely destroyed. We just need members! Active ones. Ok, it's pretty late here now, but I'll get those screenshots up tommorow. Happy Halloween again :boo: .

OK, so here's the promised comparison shot. The on on the left is the old, the one on the right the new.

The tileset is still a WIP, and doesn't have all the tiles I need on it at the moment, but it works for now. As you can see, the new tiles mean I can add a lot more ground texture, and make it look more like a battle really is taking place in the city, as it is in the new storyline.

On the matter of the gameplay, the new scripted battle system, is, as a base, done, and I have to greatly thank Neo-Bahamut for that. I've started the animations for all the zombies now as well, so they now bite and fall back when shot. Comments on the new tiles would be appreciated.

@saikyo: no, thats not the only thing I changed. I've added more stuff to the ground, power lines, edited the building textures and a load of other stuff. Admittedly, theres not that much new in that screen, but I haven't got round to mapping anything new to show it.

@azrith001: Sorry? What does that mean exactly? Whats wrong with my graphics, and why are you asking to change them?

Hey. Different stuff has been getting in the way of progress for a while, but I've still been working on the gun animations. The shotgun is now animated and I've started spriting the M4 and different stuff. Keep looking for updates.

OK, so heres a bit of an update. As I said I'm working on some of the gun animations. Now that we have a new non laggy battle system, there is room for loads more weapons, and they all need graphics. Heres a few I've started on:

From left to right is the M4 Carbine, M16, and Hunting Rifle. I've also animated the Shotgun, and now, due to the new system, bullets from that are sprayed as should be, allowing multiple targets to be hit. (This new system will probably be used to make grenades and flamethrowers work, too).

OK, FINALLY updated :P. LMS is completely changing, which means going back to the very start, but the new LMS is going to be so much better than the old one. Merged the concept topic with this as I realise it was piontless. I'm back to working on Last Man's Stand, so check out the updated front page, and give me a few minutes to upload new screenshots. Please comment on everything and what could improve, and get back to posting :)

There wasn't that much of it actually done though. Just bits fitting in here and there. For most of the time I was working on it, I was trying to get graphics right and working with the brilliant scripts who script for the game to get it right, which are the things that are now complete and in the new version of the game. I dunno about you, but I'd rather have a good game and it take a long time than a shitty game with a rushed release.

the possibility to have 40 zombies on screen at once with minimum lag,

I'm interested in seeing gameplay with the said amount of zombies on a gameplay map with all the core systems running as well. lol

its looking alot better though. the title screen looks exactly like left 4 dead down to the font though. but it looks legit.

Yeah, I should really post a video of it all working. I'll get something together.

Aww, you noticed :P. Yeah, L4D was quite a big influence for the title screen, as you can see. I just love the feel of it, and I thought something like it would work for LMS too.

Thanks for the comment, and who'd be intrested in seeing a new video of gameplay?

Jason

Awesome Bro

I think we'd all be interested to see more of this to be honest, you keep restarting it over and over, we hardly see anything new :

OK, so everyone wants a video and stuff to comment on. Here you go then

I'm sorry about the quality and the occasional lag, the recording program I used is awful (its the video not the game, honest :P). Also, I ended up having to record the audio and the video seperatly, but I won't go into that. Anyway, this video shows that the game does allow a hell of a lot of zombies on screen (I think 34 is the most you ever see in the video, so didn't quite reach the 40 this time, but you get the idea) and the animations of the new guns and redone ones of old guns, as well as new graphics and multiple zombies (in the first part at least). Please comment now :P.
