I have an idea for a mode. Capture. It would be similar to defend but the player must kill a certain amount of zombies before time runs out. If he succeeds then his squad can then move into the area and protect it from the horde, this would have many benefits such as being able to search houses for items without fear of attack. If the time runs out and he hasn't killed enough zombies then he is forced to retreat back to a safe zone. Well thats the idea and I'll leave it at that.

Awesome Bro

Hey, that's pretty impressive and I'm glad you've got it up, lol.

Althought might I suggest making more zombie sprites for variety? I could help you do so if you'd like, since it seems a little plain and bland seeing the exact copy of a zombie 30+ times chasing you, lol.

I also quite liked the new gun animations on there too.

@Darth J: I like that idea. That would really help with how as you progress you unlock new areas. Thanks for that idea.
@jbrist: Yep, finally got it working :P. If you look at the first half of the video again, you can see there's actually 3 types of zombie at the moment, the second part only has one because I didn't change the graphics for them on that map. I'm working on more zombie sprites as well, but I'll remember the offer, thanks.

Anyone else got comments?

Ok, sorry guys, just got to announce this here as it really pisses me off. 'Kqurmiz', or tutis678, has been nicking mine and saikyo's work and releasing it on RPGRevolution as his own. If you'd like to read the topic and have a good laugh at his blatent plageurism (right down to the fact that his city is called 'FoxHord') check the thread:

http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40703

I know that's a bit off topic, but I had to get it off my shoulders.

Ok, now to actually post something. Now that the first TriWeekly contest which I entered is over, I have some time to work on Last Man's Stand until the next contest. I've contacted Glitchfinder, the creator of the original LMS menu system, and he's agreed to redo it so it fits with the new style of the game.
As of yet, there are no screenshots, but I thought I'd share with you the mock I made:

NEWNEWLMSMenu.png

That shows a brief preview of the yet uncomfirmed Achievements system, and the confirmed rank system, and how everything will be layed out. The guns are temporary icons I just had lying around. So, what does everyone think?

Lol, I know I do wrong thing :D.I cancel my project and working start working on another similar like "Dead Space"

Like I said, that's a mock. And when stuck, I do turn to l4d for inspiration. But I try not to copy anything they do directly.

But seriously, has no one else got any comments? Does no one care about Last Man's Stand any more? I need comments! I need motivation! I need support! :S

I think the menu looks clean and simple - so it looks good. Don't worry. XD Everyone uses something for inspiration. I like L4D, so it's all good. ^_^

P.S. I don't think there's been much activity on the game-making side of things here, so that could be a reason why no one really comments. :(

l4d and l4d2 are always great sources for inspiration! Also try George A Romero for inspiration! He is the bomb.

On topic: Got to say Fox I am digging that menu... you could make it take up a little bit more of the screen.

Also fox I just thought of something... instead of having the red arrows for where you can go in have arrows that look like they were spray painted on the steps. Just a thought...

Hell no, you're taking WAAAAAY too long to release it, I've lost all interest and couldn't care less about the game! D:

... Just kidding, lol.

That menu looks pretty cool and I'd love to see it functional eventually, but the actual layout etc. looks simple and effective.

@StrawberryFlower: Thanks. I have noticed a lack of activity here recently. I guess it's because so many people are leaving.
@LumberWarrior: Thanks again. I like doing the graphics aspect of the game, so I always enjoy working on new designs. The reason it's smaller than the whole screen is 1) because I'm going back to the idea that it's kind of like his PDA, and 2) because when the HUD is visible, I don't want the menu to overlap it because that would look taky :P. The red arrows are just there at that moment because it was a random screen from the demo I did the mock up over, but I really like that idea. I'll have to have a go at that.
@Jbrist: lol. I'm looking forward to seeing it functional too :P. Fingers crossed I'm not asking too much of Glitchfinder...

Ok, got the flamethrower complete yesterday :). Although it doesn't set enemies on fire, it does look pretty cool and theres definatly a satisfaction to using it.

I wouldn't say that no one is interested. There is an entire zombie survival community who wants to see this. I should know. I'm one of them. So hows progress with that idea I gave you?

the menu system looks very professional. Keep up the great work. just an idea but it would be cool to give some basic info about the weapon in the menu :)

just an idea:

@saikyo765: Thanks. As I've said before, I love doing graphical work, so I like my designs to look good. Also, I think you have a valid point, and have passed on that suggestion to Glitchfinder.
@Darth J: Lol, ok, that makes me feel better, thanks. As for progress, got a few little things done ;D Like a whole damn helicopter sprite :D

I've been working on the sprite for a while now, but I finally got it finished. Its completely from scratch apart from the main blades, which coyotecraft helped with (I couldn't get the animation right). It'll feature in the new introduction, and in a few more parts later on. That screen is just a test one to get the animation running at the right speed, and to get the atmosphere right, when it's actually used, I'll have a bit more going on. I have got a good way of making clouds look like they're flashing by, and it looks very dynamic, but obviously you can't see that in a screenshot :S.
I've also started mapping the 'first' area to feature in the game, so that should look good when it's done.
