10th EDIT: Oh she almost killed me, the girl in the mechanic uniform is Saman- er Sam the mechanic.
 
Okay so I got an Idea for leveling Techs, you equip a Tech Key, you get skill, use Tech Key alot, Skill levels, pretty cliche right? BUT here's the twist, obviously if you don't use the monkey kick for sometime you'll get a little rusty, so I present Tech Key Leveling and well...DE-leveling a small addon to keep the player active ya know, it basically decreases the power of a skill if it hasn't been used for a time, could be annoying, but also a thing that hooks players.
...so what do you guys think?

lol yeah I know it's still going in the game regardless of what's said: I just want to know would people becom upset at the DE-leveling and such.
 
Hey, I can't wait to see what futuristic tilesets you're gonna have because there aren't many. That will make it challenging. You can do it. The plot is pretty good, although I think you should put some more time into the physics part, like think stuff out more. How is the earth swallowing itself? Is there like a big hole to the abyss that keeps getting bigger and the character has to go in and stop the earth from swallowing its matter? (plot idea!) Or like maybe a black hole or something?

Some of the characters seem predictable, so you have to surprise us in the game. The people dissappearing reminded me of that one show the 4400 on sci fi but it was a good show...

The mapping needs work. Is this one of your first games? The mapping is very empty and needs more detail.

All in all I like the plot of the game I can't wait to see what you do with it. Like the tilesets and stuff.
 
those annoying screens still live!? Chch bang! pow! Gone thanks to a new mapper aboard won't have 2 worry about them anymore, as far as tiles go, I am trying to work my magic with the few tilemakers on this site so we'll see, as for the predictable...oh we'll see if there is prediction XD... yes their is a blackhole swallowing the Earth, thanks to too much time traveling in the past...
 
Oooh! I like that! It'd have to be a pretty small black hole though. Usually that sucks everything in. Not little by little. Can't wait to play!
 
lol i think thats good that there will be no maps like that... i know its personal to map yourself but I think you are making a good choice. I hope this game does not end up being 101% chliech. I dont think that it will but then again ideas are great. I think you have loads of good ones :D
 
Major Bump!!!!
Okay so I give up folks.........On trying to make custom tiles, instead my main Landscape artist Adrien is going to just draw tilesets here's a small thing of what to expect,http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa211/G-manO/Tysonshouse2.jpg[/IMG] Yes I know it looks a little...Pokemon ish but the man's getting photoshop as we speak, this is a skecth and not the final version, so don't expect it to be so rigid in the final version,we're currently trying to aim for Xenogears 2d on 3d ish backround style, but still compatible with the rtp, b\c my lovely spriters refuse to resprite. So what do you think, oh yeah and this has not been formatted yet.
 
Photoshop is a very good program. It can do
amazing things. The results should be good.
Yeah, and I thought that was quite hilarious
when you asked your spriters to resprite.
Indeed they said no. I hope you don't pull
that kind of stuff with my scripts. Hahaha!

RTP compatibility? That's the size requirement issue
right. It can only be a certian width.
 
well with the Pixel Movement, it'll look really cool according to Xcuma, I'll just use the pics and such associated with that script, as for the sprites, just some layering and stuff is called for
 
I have told Gman this but the main worry your team has is making the art come alive...

you want to really heavily on Charsets to make things move and come alive. The house you have there should not have a door on it. The card reader should be a charset flashing. and even the glass needs a shine to it.

I think this is the best way to map... (if you get a good mapper)

and Gman should be ok and if not let me know and I can post a tut on how to map like that :D
