Final Fantasy VI SDK - Going Social!

Ah, ok. Note that the glowing frames are not just done in battle, but they should be possible on maps as well (like in the classroom).

I'd like to see more of your editor, it looks really awesome!

I'll post new screenshots of the editor soon!

Talking about it, I've almost completed the Terrain editor! You can have 3 layers (background, middleground and foreground), each of these can be animated with as many bitmaps as you want (like the raft on the river) and can have wave, scroll x and scroll y parameters!

Also, the Graphics picker is 100% done with1 more option. You can filter the graphics available based on their respective RTPs.

Screenshots will come soon! ;)

Take care!

Awesome editor pics.

@Marc: I'm pretty sure the point of the SDK isn't a remake but to give you the tools to make a game just like the original FF6.

*The SDK is using the newest RGSS Player and Library (RGSS202E.dll and RGSS2 Player) from RPG Maker VX. However, the SDK itself works only with RPG Maker XP.
How are we supposed to use it?
You can get RMVX RGSS 2 in XP?!?!?!
Just curious...

@Shiro
You're right, it's only tools but I'll eventually remake the game.

@Velocir_X
Yes you can use RGSS2 with RMXP. Here's my tutorial on how to do that: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=34903
I really don't recommend using the SDK without RGSS2! It will most likely crash.

I admit I've been checking every other day in anticipation of news lol. I think we're a bit too anxious. Just a bit.

Everything is coming along pretty well! The maps and events for the next demo are 99% done, there is still some details left but the whole scene is working.

I still need to code a couple of things like some battle commands and everything needed for the battle to look good.

I'll try to keep you guys updated as much as possible! ;)

Take care!

Gah... I tried doing some battle BGs in it but they seem too small (using GBA ones)

I did some Photoshop editing (poor editing) to see what it would look like if i raised the window up some... with the monster and battle characters that should have had the same treatment done o.o...:

de2.png

Would this be easy to edit? I'm sure it kind of would, at least I hope. Editing the position of the window and battle chars, at least... would I also have to edit the position of the cursor, too?

Nvm. I'm using different BGs now ^^;;;

If my memory serves me well, battle background size should be at least 480x294. Don't forget that all actor battlers are now battle animations.

This is truly amazing, you just saved me hours of work! I'll start making place holders of battle animations with at least their SFX integrated.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it :)

No problem ^^.

Btw, I found an easy way to get battle animations in ZSNES and FFVI. The problems I had before with battle animations that I found on the web were alignment issues. But I used FF3SE, which is a sprite editor, and got rid of Celes and Sabin's sprites, pressed '2' in the emulator to get rid of the black background, and used screenshot/incr frm. I'll try to have a few asap!

Edit:

Got the first one, White Magic Charge. Uhh see if I aligned it perfectly! Thanks to ZSNES and Grids!

That's friggin' sweet! If I wasn't at work, I'd be doing this all day long. Again, thank you very much for investing so much time into this, it helps me a lot. :)

By the way, I'll be on vacation next week so you can expect much more updates! I'll try to finish the demo during this week but I'm not promising anything.

Take care!

Lol really no problem. I would have done those charsets but... ah busy busy busy. I want to get a demo of Essence out soon, too. So I might need these animations, too.

Oh and I ripped Cure
