FF7 ps3

I don't think people would love FF2J if they re-released it again. I mean, most people didn't like the ports of it that already exist. The engine blows, it has a very retarded levelling system that promotes attacking your team mates and chain casting cure, then unequipping all your weapons and running around with barefists and destroying every enemy in 1-2hits for the rest of the game with no reason to cast a single spell.

I honestly don't know why people complained about FF2's leveling system when you can beat the game easily without spamming the engine.  It's not like the game was difficult in any manner.  I didn't bother grinding, not even for the best equipment.

I heard how "horribly tough" FF2(j) was.
I hadn't played it but I played the Dawn of Souls version, and grew curious so I found a copy and played.  I'd hate to say it, but yeah okay it can be tough - but I bit it with more ease than FF1 (original, not the dawn of souls - that took me a bit because I totally forgot what to do and got lost in a dungeon many levels above me lol)

If your referring to my post, no I'm talking about FF2(j) as in Japanese FF2, not the American renamed port.

Though honestly my favorite super nintendo game is Final Fantasy 4 - err 2 (yes, the Cecil one).

OT: Zelda: PH and FF3 are pretty poor DS games, in comparison to some of the other games (Rune Factory, Children of Mana, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals: Ring of Fates... hell, Picross.)

Zelda: PH made very poor use of the Stylus, and offered no Non-Stylus option, and FF3 was a poor game to begin with and the port made very little effort to improve on it's deficiencies, save the graphical update.

FF4 was a great game, and I hope that the DS port maintains its standings. I've heard good things, but we'll see.

It is.  The graphics are really beautiful and they added a little more to the system, but not to the point of utter ridiculousness.

The main big draw of it is that you can teach your final five characters moves that other characters that were in your party could use.  For example, Rosa and Rydia could learn the Twin move that Porom and Palom could use, Edge could learn Kick, ect.

Some screens.  My emulator is pretty buggy (which is to be expected), bit it gets the job done

Anyway, the beginning is even slightly different.  You actually have to fight in the opening battle demo.

And Cecil actually looks pretty damn cool.

Like I said, I have trouble with my emulator, but Cid is awesome as always.

Some screens from the scene where Rosa meets Cecil in his room before him and Cain leave for Myst Cave.

Cecil and Cain actually leaving:

The backdrop for the prologue is even insane.  And yes, the little birds you see in the picture move like normal.

And lastly, the dancer in Baron, 'cause they always make me laugh.  Sadly you don't actually see the Baron dancer tossing off her dress like in the original. XD;

Yeah, I've seen the screen shots. I don't think Cecil looks very good at all. Looks a bit top heavy, to me.

What do you mean that you can teach Rose and Rydia the Twin move? and Edge the Kick move? How does that work? And.. well.. Why? Palom and Parom had the Twin move because they were twins. Yang had the Kick move because he was a Monk-class character. Why would Edge have that, or Rose/Rydia have Twin? That doesn't really make sense.

I don't really remember what they called it; "Character Memory", or something like that.  Basically the character that knows that skill would pass on how to do it to another character.

Let's be honest, here.

FF 5 and 6 will be remade into 3-D and slapped on the DS.  FF3 was high quality and everybody bought it, and they realized that actually making good games on a system with a massive userbase makes them money, which is why FF4 followed suit.  If you don't think FF5 and FF6 won't be 3-D'd and put on the DS you most seriously think square enix doesn't like money.

As for potential FF7 and beyond remakes, they won't be hitting the PS3.  Ever since the PS3 bombed around the world, every major project has quietly shifted from PS3-exclusive to being multiplatform with the 360 (which has only bombed in japan) simply because developers thought the PS3 was going to steamroll the entire market like the PS1 and PS2 did and when they finally caught onto the fact that the PS3 is a large steaming pile they began shrieking at their underlings to make a quick and sloppy 360 port so they can at least make SOME money off their multimillion dollar title.  The only ones that haven't have been FF13 and MGS4 because their developers are stubborn, and you can bet that their corporate overlords will somehow change "PS3 exclusive" into "PS3 exclusive for six months and then a version on the 360 releases with extras" like Resident Evil 4 or Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 or Tales of Symphonia.

Meanwhile the Wii has taken off like nobody had prepared for, selling more than the Gamecube ever did in just under a year and on track to smash the record for most copies of a console sold in a single generation that the PS2 set last time around.  So for the first year or so of the Wii's life, all of those developers that sunk millions of dollars into major projects on what they now know are failing systems, while the one they thought would flounder and die has cemented the first place spot, making said developers scramble to shit out anything possible for the Wii in attempts to cash in.  By now, that stage has largely passed - with the exception of the cheapo makers of Ninjabread Man or Anubis 2 or Counter-Force, all of the developers in the gaming world, after dumping their 4-week production time shovelware to try and earn a quick buck off the Wii craze, now have actual time to build good Wii games, and they're all beginning to look absolutely amazing.

What does this have to do with FF7?  Well, it's simple, really - Square Enix will put it on the Wii if anything else.

No.  FF fanboys, shut up.  Do not begin to type BUT FF7 WAS FIRST ON A SONY CONSOLE or whatever inane retarded comment you wish to make.  You are wrong.

Wii is where the money is at, and it will likely stay that way for the remainder of this generation.  PS3 is dead everywhere and 360 is dead in Japan, the largest selling audience for FF games.  FF3 sold amazingly well on what everybody once thought was just a failure of a handheld that would crumble under the weight of the PSP.  What makes you think it won't happen the same way with a FF7 console port?

Hell, even the 'started on sony' excuse can be used to justify a Wii FF7.  "Nintendo gamers haven't played FF7 yet so we feel it's time to bring them that experience."  Recognize the spiel?  Yeah, Capcom used it to justify RE4 on the Gamecube.

tl;dr - FF7 will be on Wii because no other console has the userbase to even justify putting it elsewhere.

I'm quite sure they'd put FFVII on the 360 to boost it sales, hey, it happened with the PSX and PS2 (The FF games were why a lot of people decided to pick up the system..not everyone though), so I can promise you in Japan people would pick up a 360, because the most common argument against buying a 360 here is the fact there's no good J-RPGs and not enough reason to buy a 360, because Dating Sims/RPGs are still among the top genres in Japan, and tbh, Eternal Sonata wasn't "good enough" to want to buy a 360..great game, but it just isn't a FF style RPG that everyone in Japan is waiting for to hit the 360.

Fuck.
Omnislash using the wiimote?

Fuck. That.
I'd rather not have a heart attack and brain aneurysm at once, thanks.

You do know the Wii has alot more controlers, right?

It doesn't just have a wii remote. It has a normal controller, a Gamecube controller, numchucks, etc.

Any game released for the Wii has to have Wiimote controls. Whether it makes use of the motion sensors or is simply held sideways. Unless the game comes bundled with the controllers required.

...numchucks.

NUMCHUCKS.

As for FF7 on the Wii in terms of the concerns Sixty presented, they're very much real.  However  it will probably end up like the DS ports - they didn't pidgeonhole the DS' unique capabilities, but when they were appropriate, they were used.

A FF7, or any other mainstream FF, on the Wii would probably use a Wiimote+'numchuck' combo in the following way:

Control stick - move character.
A - examine, talk etc
B - cancel
Control Pad - pull up menu.
Pointer - appears in menus, point and select various headings (or scroll through them traditionally with the control stick)

In battle:
Pointer or control stick - select from menus
A - accept
B - cancel
hold C+Z - run

At the MOST, maybe some waggle input to do cloud's limitbreaks - and despite Sixty's fears, I don't think they would be bad.  Arrows appear on screen, you swing the wiimote the proper way to do the move.  Cloud's first would be a simple slash down motion, the omnislash would be DDR-session of random movements.  This system worked quite well in No More Heroes.

Square-ENIX, won't put any Final Fantasy games, with the exeption of Xi, on the 360

I'm hearing quite different in Japan, maybe it would be a Japanese only thing then.

Not only have I heard different, they even said they planned to make FF games for the Xbox in due time, as XIII will be the -last- Sony exclusive FF game.

Square never said such thing. In fact, they have stated several times (and recently as well) that they will support PS3 more than X360.

I guess most of these Japanese magazines were wrong then or as I said, it's a Japanese only thing.

Because they said they were going to support the Xbox more in coming years than PS3 with part one (I think it was called as such) of FFXIII being the last Sony FF exclusive.
