Here is an example of the lighting for a sunny day. I know the shadows need some work. But notice objects reflect the light some. Shadowing also allows me to make more detail in the textures. I need to make the light reflect off of the main hero too an up the saturation some when in daytime.

Cool, i like the shadows, but i think that you could fix some reflects (looks like those 3 lamps were on)...

oh those are actually parking meters with stainless steal heads :D
Ill make the reflections cleaner on those.
 
wow, that looks quite amazing.
One thing that did stand out to me though, was that those parking metres have really wide shadows. Unless I'm missing something, shouldn't the shadows be long and thin?
 
no the project has not died. ive been quiet about a small suprise within the next week or so. also new freshly baked batch of screenshots soon. :) take care

update pushed back till wed or thurs. yall are going to love this update. the project has taken an even more survival approach. i put alot of details here and there. as well as into the mapping. almost no map uses the same tileset. stay tuned

due to a death in my family the update is pushed back to sunday. im typing from my phone i dont have time to get on my computer. sunday i will post screenshots of the upcoming trial version's story mode displaying new features, indoor areas, weapons, and a video of the new particle system effects. sorry to keep pushing it back. the demo will feature 2 diffrent modes. 1 is a small portion of the gameplay for the story mode. The other is the "special operations mode" which is you choose a class of set weapons featuring a primary and secondary weapon and you must eliminate all the zombies on a map from the real game. while the story mode has a more survival feel, this mode will give you more ammo and there will be much more zombies as and zombies will be in places that arent in the normal game. the classes are preset. like ifyou select the soldier class its an m16 and a beretta m9. theres many diffrent classes to choose and some classes have all new weapons hat i just added. there is also a commando class, which is only a handgun and knife if you lik it difficult. zombie ai has been tweaked. they have small random patterns of a short sprint to make them unpredictable. they csn also follow you and break through doors from other maps. headshotsystem has been tweaked, adding a new varible to the equasion: weapon recoil. the gore is better than ever with all new particle effects, and blood splatter animations. blood now splashes on the screen too. stay tuned til sunday where i wil show ou ll m hard work. the demoha highreplayabilityand is expected to keep you playing. there is so many details little things you can do, as well as a ton of secrets. prepare for the ultimate zombie survival game unlke anthing you've ever seen/played for an rpg maker game.

I wanted to post test interior shots to take a break from the city screenshots. This is the first safehouse which takes place in a large hotel.
Some of the interior graphics are placeholders/test.

In the demo you find 2 handguns and whichever one you choose your partner gets the other one.The higher the stats are, the better the weapon is.
The glock 17 has a higher magazine cap but shoots slower. the M9 has a lower magazine capacity, but higher rate of fire and faster reloads. the in real game you dont get a gun till later on, but i want the demo to have it to be able to have fun

Left 4 Dead 2 type healing system. when you have a first aid kit you can heal yourself or your partner. you can only hold one at a time. there will have a healing character animation, and he will hold it on his back visable

If youre refering to the last 2 pictures. the map is not complete. like a said the last 2 pictures are "only lighting test." which means that the maps graphics is not complete. its not fully fixed up.

The first area with not that many zombies to get used to your controls.
Notice the new weapon the MP5SD.
also notice the new hud how it has an "A" on it that just means the weapon cycle is on the primary. if you press "W" (or Y on my 360 controller) which is switch weapons, it cycles through B,C, then D.
B is secondary (for handguns) C is for support (shotguns and sniper rifles and heavy machine guns)
The SMG now take up slot 1 because I didnt want to give up my pistol because players would choose the SMG over the handgun everytime. The SMGs have bad assed stats already.

this next one the zombies come from everywhere around you. they chased me into alley ways where I took out my hunting rifle and popped their heads one by one. :D and then they chased me down the street. pulling out a sidearm is always faster than reloading. My MP5 magazine was empty right as they where settling in so I switched to the USP45. the weapons in this game are pretty powerful.

Heres where I took out my MOSSBERG 500 Chrome Shotgun and killed most of the group. Check out the new blood effects

(I know about the zombie going through the bench. its just a small passability i didnt add yet. ignore it please)

This next one is where you first get attracted by a horde. this map has alot of alleyways and and other points all around it. So when the horde comes wherever you are they literally surround you. The zombies all together speed has been fastened. zombies have a random sprint of fastness. the hordes are all fast though. the amount of zombies on the screenshot is nothing compared to what you play. you are really going to be surprised. The P90 chews up ammo quickly but thats fine they are ammo stashes in correct places.

(zombie variation on this map will be fixed)

Oh and Im finishing up the achievements for the demo. Get all the achievements and you unlock the special additional gameplay map plus a new weapon for the both gameplay modes.

update:
11 more days untill the beta is released openly.

the beta will have quite a bit to keep you busy.
90% of the buildings can be entered, each interior has its own chipset so every place has its own visuals. Tons of new melee weapons added, even some ridiculous ones. Now that theres this big city and highway to the country roads map with enterable buildings with things you can use inside it's really amping up the survival aspect of the game. The beta will also have battle mode featuring "Wilted Warehouse" which is a nazi zombies type level. What I mean is you start out with only your first and each zombie you kill gives you points. headshots are worth 40, regular kills worth 20. There are weapons you can buy with points on the wall. its very difficult to survive. It's been tweaked to make it much harder than the regular game. theres also classes you can pick at the beggining of the main game to suit your gameplay style. I know you guys will love it when you play it. heres the classes for the beta.



SOILDER - RAISED KNOWLEDGE IN FIREARMS. WEAPON JAMS BECOME MORE RARE.

PERSONAL OFFENSE - START WITH RAISED MELEE COMBAT STATS

MEDIC - CAN HOLD UP TO TWO FIRST AID KITS OR PAIN PILLS AT A TIME.

MACHANIC - CAN REPAIR BROKEN MELEE WEAPONS TO 1/3 OF WEAPONS HEALTH

PERSONAL DEFENSE - RAISED ENDURANCE. HARDER TO GET TIRED DURING COMBAT.

CHEF - FOOD ITEMS WILL RAISE HEALTH BY DOUBLE.


this game will blow your mind there is so much years of detail put into the system. stay tuned. when it hits the 7 day mark i will be releasing much new info about the full game and the beta.
 
Sounds pretty good, but I've got to say that now where it all comes to an end it doesn't satisfy me any-more :P I want to play the real thing! It sounds like a real quality indie game, it certainly seems to stand out of the mass of most RMXP games.

Looking forward to the release, and I hope you'll find all bugs till the release if there are any, RMXP updating is just so annoying.
