so how do I select the other one? When I go to load games, I only the new saves (and yes, I had normal saves with the first one, not just autosaves)

E, they have a switch character button on the side in the load menu. It is kind of difficult to notice at first with how they colored it. Just slap that and choose your other character.

I'm waiting on some type of end game DLC or expansion. The open ending is so good and I want to go hunt down Morrigan.

Double post for the sake of awesomeness

DragonAgeNexus has stockpiled some amazing Dragon Age mods. The companion redesigns are amazing.

That is just an example. My favorite redesign has to be this set: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=161

The quality is excellent. There are plenty of game play tweaks, weapons, and armor mods now too. (Even a tactics slot editor for those who want a massive number of slots)

The list starts here http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/categories.php

One more for the road:

Just finished it with my (Primal) Arcane Mage (also elven).

I got the ending where I knock up Morrigan, so I don't die, but she leaves me, and even though I vow to find her apparently I never do. Eh. I also put Anora up on the throne, because Alistair was being a whiny bitch.

I'm replaying it through as a human noble rogue, and acting like a total asshole with everybody, so we'll see how that goes. Still haven't bought the extra content (Shale's stuff and other missions?).

I'd hate to give nikki more fuel, but to be honest, BioWare is the only western RPG-centered studio worthy of my money. They are dedicated to every aspect of video game development. They don't just make pretty games, or fun games - they make strong narrative-based games with character development. The last time I checked, that's what the first pen and paper RPGs were founded on - story.

I got it for the PC seven days ago,

I'm at the Landsmeet with my main char, a Dwarf Noble at lvl 15.
Got all 3 parties to join me and saved the boy in the Arl of Redcliffe.
"Friended" both Morrigan and Leliana

My secondary char is a level 4 Dalish elf; got him to Ostagar and that's probably as far as I'll go, sadly I need a girl char to get the Hopelessy Romantic Achievment....

btw the only romantic characters are Morrigan, Leliana, Alistair and Zevran...

Anyway, I'm really surprised by how complicated the quests really are. You start with the straightforward task of finding somebody, and then it derails into her madness, liberation of others enslaved, and all sorts of strange shit you didn't realize in the beginning. And you have to keep your party happy on top of everything!

I killed the kid. That was the highlight of the Redcliffe quest. I wish I could of killed his mother too...that fuckin' wench.

Awesome Bro

Lol I actually went out of my way to save the kid AND his mam, but fuck me I wish I didn't, the mage tower was a right pain in the arse, mainly because being in the fade was tedious, I mean, I must've spent 3 hours looking for all the permanent stat boosts in there, and some of the places seemed so pointless...

you would have had to go to the mage's tower anyway, jbrist.
you could have potentially gone to the mage's tower before you went to redcliffe and then just waltzed back to the tower to complete the quest instead.
the quest feels stupid-long because you were effectively doing a quest and another big fat mission, all at the same time.

'Tis a pretty cool game. No complaints on the graphics end, as good as any and some of the effects are really cool. Also appreciate the blood even though there's not as much as the trailers and hype imply. The soundtrack on the other hand is rather underwhelming, with a lame main theme and any other I can remember just pretty boring. Also the darkspawn battle theme is horrible. As far as gameplay goes it's very much standard BioWare. Also offers a good challenge to those who want it and a cakewalk to us not so willing. As far as the story goes I have rather mixed opinions... After the Archdemon is mentioned it's painfully obvious that you'll be killing it in the end, while the in the game it's made seem like this big shadow towering in the distance that you'll have to deal with eventually. It also feels a bit like everything that happens after
the landsmeet
is just clean-up and the at the thing is already in the bag. Otherwise it's a very intresting world and a big one at that. I like the amount of work that's been put into the characters, especially the party members though some of them are perhaps a bit on the simple end(eg. Zevran the walking lump of murder, sex and a thing for leather).

Currently on my third run as an evil elf mage, Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage sustainablespam behemoth. First playthrough as a blind semi-speedrun as dwarf-noble warrior using shield and mace without a romance subplot involved. Just went without roleplaying much on that one, looking at how things go and poking around a bit. Seeing the Blight spread made rush it a bit I think. Second run was the one I've enjoyed most to date, as a human-noble dual-dagger rogue, with the main romance being with Leliana and accidentally starting every other one avaible to male chars, I guess it's my nature :D. This one was also a standard issue nice guy and sworn enemy of all things evil and unorthodox.

tl;dr: I like it too.

Just got it yesterday, and I haven't spent too much time on it yet, but I'm very impressed so far. The intra-party banter is pretty entertaining, and it seems like there's a ton of it. That was one of my favorite aspects of Baldur's Gate 2 that I always thought there could have been more of.

One thing that was interesting was the portrayal of elves. I went with the City option instead of the Dalish, and they're pretty unique compared to the majority of "they are a wise slender and beautiful people with an affinity for nature" types out there. Maybe the Dalish are like that, but my impression is that they're more or less primitive savages or something instead. (Haven't encountered them yet, I just got out of that first town, after gettin' Sten and Leliana.)

Moar mod pictures because the mods are sexy

These two might please Venetia, as I know she was disappointed with Leliana's looks

There are plenty of mods of various types. Player modules are starting to pump out in massive groves. With the expansion on the horizon, we can expect quite a bit more.
