yes, it deletes everything, I think the problem is becuase everything has to be parallel process, the system can't figure out which to keep priority, becuase the problem only happens when you press space to delete when the picture is still moving.

actually, I think I just thought of a solution, add new move events before the erase the events and make everything pause....

hm.... I'll have to try it out later, can't tonight though.

I played through your demo, and I'm loving it so far. Great intro illustrations and timing with the music. I have a few criticisms, but these are far outweighed by the positive aspects of your game-in-progress.

1. Dialogue speed. I can read really fast, so I can't stand text that I could have read in half the time it took to display. I like the effects with the pausing after certain commas and such, but overall the text speed is too slow. Maybe if you had text rates and pause durations multiplied/divided by a variable, so it could be easily and globally controlled by a single option.

2. A few typos, grammatically I think for the most part. Not a big issue, but something that certainly needs to be addressed.

3. I didn't know I could run until I pressed it by accident. I kept dying the the Forest of Sleep before finding this out because I couldn't avoid the monsters.

Also, just curious, why did you choose the title 'Celestias Ferrum'? Celestias I can see as a relationship to the stars, the cosmos, etc. which i guess works, but ferrum refers to iron, or metal if abstracted, and I didn't see a place for that in the demo. Unless there are other meanings of these words that I don't know.

I just wanted to ask, did you have a heal at lvl up feature while playing?

i've put this project on hold for the summer to work on other stuff, but I can't remeber if I ever updated it.
 
ah, lets see, I havn't updated here since I stopped working on this project after the first demo was done.

was in the time over the last month and half, I was bashed, reviewed, enlightened, worked on 2 small side projects, made a few tutorials, didn't sprite at all, got the rips from Sithlord, pulled in yet another favor from Hanzo Kimura, learned a few things, forgot several things, watched a LOAD of anime including some Bleech, CODE GEASS which rocks and it's the best show ever, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, which is a good show I guess, and NHK, which was awesome, loved every second of it.

alright, so then, what now?

well, it was decided about over a month ago that CF would be halted indefinetly

however, a few weeks it was decided that CF would be remade, and 3 days ago, the official remaking began!

It's pretty good, so you won't regret spending 5 or so mins watching it.

anyways, I'll be making a new topic once the remake of the game gets going, till then, wish me luck :3

I'll admit that your previous version wasn't exactly the shining example of quality, but I'm sure you've learned a bunch of things that you can use to make your next attempt better. Good luck.

I'll have a look at the intro in the meantime.
 
thanks, I've also gotta remake the pseudo animated intro, but I'm going to make Sithlord's DarkHorizon one first.

and for the long ago question you scratched out on like page one, I'm going to use Rips from the Aselia game for battlers now instead of making my own :\

it was good practice trying to make one, but meh, lol, the rips now that I have them are much better XD I'll have to edit them of course, make the generic classes also boys since I guess for story reasons all solders were girls :P never played Eternal Aselia, but the OVA was kick ass, lol.
 
yeah, I know, but a link like that isn't very helpful...

I've already changed the skin for the menu, I just never bothered changing the screenshots, though I will be putting more time into putting together a better menu soon.

appreciate the advice, but don't just give random tutorials sites -_- you could'a told me to google something and it would've been more helpful.

Hey monkey, I noticed you topic said (BEING REMADE) so what kind of remake are you doing? Are you remaking the game completely or just changing the graphics?
 
I believe I have found an error.

After the forest scene, your character gets returned to the house.
Then I went to go pick up some more Empty Bottles so I can fill them at the well, but instead of picking up Empty Bottles, it says I picked up something called "Tristan XIII". Then when I go to my inventory, I highlight the item and it gives the error saying the picture graphic for Tristan XIII couldn't be found then the game stops and exits.
 
ah, thats been reported and fixed, but don't worry about it. I forgot to take the link off the first post...

I'll change it now, the game is being remade, so don't worry about the old version :P
 
D this is your 4th time remaking the game with brand new text. You need to write out the story(yes with a pen) and then try b/c if you keep restarting you will never finish this

Love you new intro monk. I also like what you did with the conversations, for lack of a better word, it made me feel like i was actually watching them do their actions.

- you can tell the picture are cutouts from what looks like it was something square and you it's really noticeable on Miho, especially when her picture is enlarged. I'm not really a photoshop artist but maybe there might be a way to cut off the pieces that make her head look square-ish.

-  Miho's fathers enlarged picture expresses emotion but his message box picture doesn't, this bothered me a little. (ex. When Miho's father is looking for her his enlarged picture is expressing emotion but his picture in the message box had a calmed one.

That's about it though, other then that it's awesome. Keep up the good work. :thumb:
 
oh, actaully, in the text box, people's emotion don't change, I can't be bothered to go into THAT much detail, lol.

plus, I'm kinda copying off Soul Disgaea (which is a amazing game X3) with that one, they have a single picture for the faces in the text box, but then the portraits will differ.
