Afar ~ 1,000 Players

Ya... don't worry, I'm adding another map in there, it will be a mountain map; at the top being the entrance to the first Cooperative Dungeon. (A coop dungeon needs more than one player to complete it, and the bosses are all global enemies. They can be solo'd with the right tactics, but obviously it's easier to group them.)

I don't know when the next ed will be released, but when it is I'm gonna launch the first few cash competitions. There will be several prizes offered, and it won't be based on who is the best player or anything.

The Obsidian Sword

This is the first epic quest in the game. You have to complete the other game quests to find enough clues as to it's whereabouts, and then you have to... find it. It's worth it as (with the proper balancing) it should be quite a powerful and unique weapon. Because of it's rarity the first three people to find it will win a cash prize.

Probably something along the lines of:

1st: $20
2nd: $10
3rd: $5

Caverns of Kendra

This is a multiplayer cooperative dungeon. I'm not sure how rewards will work for this, but I'm thinking time of completion and amount on team could affect things. Being a team dungeon it would be hard to give everyone on the team a reward, unless it was in the form of an in-game object maybe.

These are just thoughts; if you have any ideas for competitions we could hold please let me know and I'll see about it :) Obviously I need to get the money together and need to implement some way of testing who has or hasn't done a certain thing, and these things need to be tested first to make sure they're not too easy / too short / too hard.

Damn, page 2?

Anyway.

I'm knocking up a test build using this server just to see how it works; if it works fine I might release the Omega soon.

Hopefully that'll get some traffic on the website :thumb:

Man Wyatt, it's been forever since I last seen this project. I remember when Vengeance took it's first baby steps back in '06. *sniff*, they grow up so fast!

I wish you all the luck in the world with this.

I downloaded a program called HeidiSQL; I'd recommend it for anybody working with Netplay+ and MySQL as it is really useful for managing the databases, it's simple and set out logically.

I'm working on saving and loading now, for the MySQL database; it seems like it would be relatively easy and I've worked out how to allow for things such as visual equipment.

Also, I tell ya what, to prove whether or not it works I'll set up a character page for Mr Test.

The Dream

Ok... I plan to get the Omega of Vengeance released by March 30th 2009.

After that I plan on getting a little place of my own, with an alfalfa patch and rabbits and Lennie gets to tend the rabbits and in the winter we'll all sit down by the roaring fire and not have to work at all.

...

Maybe not. I hear Gary Sinese sucks and Jon Malkovich is expensive.

I plan to get it released by March 30th 2009, ideally before that, and then it'll be up for sale as a full version. Once enough money gets in I'll start hiring people to remake the graphics, and all that shit. And hopefully it'll get me lots of cash for uni :thumb:

Don't get your hopes up people, like all other release dates he set, this one most likely wont happen either.

Wow, harsh words.  I thought you and Wyatt were friends?

I think the difference between this date and the previous ones is now that he's run a beta, he has a decent knowledge of where his game stands progress wise, before it was more of just a guess.

Yeah, I just don't want people too get to exited about something that might not happen.

Edit:
Oh wait! I didn't even read the date until now. xD
Okey, he could actually make it in time. :thumb:

oh... well, no.
The website isn't really done. :thumb:

(Why the hell do I answer this anyway?! it's Wyatts game and website, not mine.  )

Ah, sorry about the confusion.

The "1000 players online" is just a placeholder; it did formerly say this at the top of the page that it was just for show but it seems all the text on the homepage has been deleted for some reason (seriously I have no idea what's going on there).

Important question:

Which of the following would you rather play?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/dudemaster/detail1.png[/img]
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/dudemaster/detail2.png[/img]

(Both are horribly simple maps, judge by the graphics not the mapping :thumb:)

Even thought I usually prefer non-RTP games, I'm gonna have to choose the RTP version here.
The other alternative is horrible.
