[XP] Party Changer

That too is easy. The Character Pool is decided wholly by the "Add/Remove Character" Event Command. When you Add a Character, you also add them to the Character Pool. When you Remove them, they are likewise removed from the pool.

Of course, this brings us towards the first bug, in which if you start a new game, the characters you open with appear twice in the Character Pool. It's odd, but easily remedied by either emptying the Initial Party in the Database and creating a Startup Event that adds your Initial Party, or else by making an Event with the Event Commands "Remove Hero from Party" followed by "Add Hero to Party". It's no big deal really, but it's there.

I have a problem that I'm really struggling to understand. When I have the Party Changer 2.1.2 script installed, if I try to create an event that changes a character's level, HP, SP etc. it doesn't do a thing, yet if I make exactly the same event, but applying to all party members, it does work.

It definitely seems to be that script which is causing the problem. The moment I remove it, the event starts working again. Have you any idea why that might be happening?

There's a version 2.1.2 now?? All I have is 1.7. When did this happen? I wonder how I ended up with an outdated version.
Yay, 2.1.2 seems to fix the bug I mentioned about duplicate initial characters appearing from start of game.
However, Large Parties (of more than 4) are not supported.

I tested out the method of changing a character's parameters, but it worked for me. Might it be conflicting with another Script you have, by any chance? If that's the case, my other Scripts are "Train_Actor", "Momo_Bestiary", "Window_Book_Comment", "Book_Comment", "Large_Party", and "Party_Changer". Everything functions fine with these (apart from the lack of large party support).

Hmm, when I start a new game it works fine, but when I try it from my savefile it doesn't work. I guess that's good news.

Edit: Yes, the problem seems to be save files. It works fine for me when starting fresh, but if I try changing stats from a save file, it doesn't work. Or rather, it only comes into effect when I open the party changing screen. I also have the problem that whenever I go into the party changing screen, instead of a list of the characters I want available, I get those currently in my party then a single character (who I don't even want) repeated 4 times.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but has the main actor duplication glitch fixed? It always occurs when I change a member, save, go back to title and reload my save. Two of the main character will also show up in the character select screen. One says "He's already in your party" or something like that, and then the other will allow me to put into my party but only one will actually be in the party of course.

EDIT: Nevermind, a few posts above cleared this for me >.< . Guess that's what I get for not reading the last page of posts heh heh.

@danska
Thanks for the bug report. I'll take a look at it. Almost all bugs in this script occurs when loading a saved game. :-/

@GreenBanana
I'm working on the Large & Multiple Party feature ;)

You can't see this but I am dancing around my garden with the knowledge that I now have this script.

It doesn't seem to work with the japanese version... It looks highly interesting, but I can't get it to work.

When I put this script in my game, I noticed that some of the text in the battles (the first option of each turn, Fight and Escape) no longer show. The only thing that seems to fix it is removing the script.

@Max
I have the English version but it should work with the Japanese version too. What version you are using exactly?

@Irgna
Well, the script rewrites a part of the Window_PartyCommand class. However, it does not remove it from the battle scene. Maybe you are using a script which interferes with this one?

This was the only extra script I had in at the time. I'll try the font over-ride mini-script and see if that works.

whoa. this is been updated quite a bit :D

I'll update the one i have now with the current one now ^_^

Does the current version support multiple parties? if so, is it possible to have each party have their own set of items and gold?

No this one does not support multiple parties.
I guess I'll make a totally new script for that, obviously compatible with the my Large Party script and the Party Changer! :D

EDIT: Okay, I got it working now after some fiddling. I still can't figure out how to resize the menu so that I don't have to scroll. I tried changing the 6's to @item_max like one guy suggested, but that just gave me errors and didn't really fix the problem.

How do we make it so that the menu command for Party is disabled (similar to how you can disable saving)? (I know these questions spill over into the Command Manager script, but you made both scripts so I figure I can ask you here.)

Add-Ons Updated

The Party Arrange and Party Changer (Main Menu) scripts are updated. They now need Commands Manager 1.2 or higher to work.

(I fixed a bug with enabling/disabling commands using the Commands Manager)
