today was my nephew's first day of first grade, so i walked him to school. he was so nervous. i dicked around until it was time to pick him up - he had a good day, so i took him for ice cream and then i got him some crazy lego hero thing that he wanted and we ran around for like 2 hours in toys 'r us

tbh the salary is only marginally better than that of a fast food worker but it'll be a way to keep busy until i start college next year

oh hell no there's no way i'm talented enough to do anything artsy fartsy professionally

i thought about it for a while last year, but then i worked as a CNA for a little while and despite it being an absolutely terrible job it made me realize how much i like takin' care of people

;x i can never seem to get comfortable around kids until they're like 8-10. then when they hit ~13 they get bitchy/teenagery and i dislike them again. but 8-12 is usu like that phase where they're still cute and excited about the world and have enough skill with language/personal hygeine to intelligibly say what's on their mind without blowing boogers/peanut butter at you

my ex's niece was cool though, even at like 3 years old she always cleaned her face and hands after eating (or doing anything ... it was cute to see her pet an animal or drink from a glass and impulsively wash her face and hands--sure it was OCD in the making but still p cute) and she'd always be like "old people smell bad!" or "that woman is weird looking!" in public and it was so lol to see reactions

man i need to stop waxing nostalgic for a little while christ
