Working on trial maps to use in demos instead of story chapters, so I can show people mechanics I've finished without giving away the story.
Let's see... Forts/thrones/gates heal people now; I can change the missions AI units are using on the fly; and Brigands know how to go after towns and pillage them, as well as finally being able to walk over mountains through a skill. Just need to make shops work and the first map might be done ' 3'

Oh, and finally decided on a way to make a ton of animated water tiles without smashing autotiles together until they worked. This'll save me some trouble.
 
Still working on the battle system (original mockup was http://bb.hbgames.tk/upload/t.png). It's really getting somewhere, but it doesn't look like it at the moment:

Regardless of the looks, it is actually nearly done if you take _1, _2, as being "placeholder variables" for longer html strings that will create the messages in the mockup screenshot. (In actuality, the battle log is a string in the form "1_2_3_4_3_1_9_2" which will be broken down into an array in the form [1, 2, ... 2], that will be linked to an array of html messages, so as to ease database storage. Make sense?)

I'm trying to learn Ruby; starting with small things so I don't get discouraged because I'm a big dumbface that has zero aptitude for programming.

By the way, if any of you have aim, shoot me a PM. I would love to have someone to bounce ideas off of.

I'm batting around character designs and marvelling at how easy things suddenly get when you ask for help. I should be able to make some legitimate shown-in-editor progress by the end of the week, and then start a thread and open opt-in appearances.
 
The storyline is moving along nicely. I'm also working on puzzles and gameplay for the remodeled first dungeon, the Golmar Mines. Yeah, that's right, actual progress, now that summer's come!
