Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth

Sorry, just noticed... anyway i have something. I just killed Loki and after the credit there was a Fin screen. So I accidentally didn't turn off the psp and saw Brahms talking about somefin' i forgot and Lezard(I loved the scene when Arngrim and Mystina say "Who's your friend?!!") talking about sacrificing the philosopher's sone to survive Dragon Orbs' blow in Midgard and not being controlled by Valkyrie... Did somebody know it?

Edit: who said something about the iso? All he games i got from my friend who plays every game only once. He was in Hong Kong for 3 days(and then Thailand) and bought Monster Hunter Freedom, VP: L and The legend of heroes 1&2 there for cheap price(UMD dics)

You got it for free?

What, did you download the iso?

If so, for shame. Pirating games is the number 1 reason why Sony doesn't fully support the homebrew scene and it's people like you who keep the PSP's custom scene from fully shining.

Actually, piracy isn't the reason Sony is screwing over their #1 customer base (Why do people buy PSPs? Not for the existing games, but the homebrew...FREE homebrew)...why support something that loses them money? Generally Systems aren't where a company makes money (Hell, MS is losing money on each 360 they make) but in the accessories and games they sell.

Microsoft was losing money on the Xbox because the technology was produced in-house. 360 uses outside manufacturer parts so they're making a tidy profit. As far as homebrew goes, it would only increase interest in accessories and consoles. The PSP is shit easy to program for and if Sony made a series of developer packs or accessories to help in game development or production they'd probably have the hottest little product on their hands.

I mentioned the iso because you said you got the games for free which was an immediate "u must have pirated" in my mind.

Still man, pirating is pretty terrible. I've long given up my ways of stealing stuff (er, to some degree... i can't resist fingering bubblegum from gas stations).

I haven't seen that before. I knew the original Xbox made no money due to the harddrive built in but the 360 price is new to me. Still, that's almost 9 months old and technology drops in price by an insane amount in that time even though we're still paying the same price for it. It probably explains why so few 360s were manufactured before the April "boom."

I wonder how much the PS3 is costing to make considering it has a blu-ray player as well as it's processor and shit.

the estimates are about the same...and even if tech has gone down in price, it's very rare for a console to turn a profit in the first 2 years of existence (And then it goes through the price drop, so in all honesty, consoles almost never turn a profit for their company, save Nintendo machines...tey really know how to work the system)

Actually I think Nintendo just buys parts from cheap manufacturers (made in china). I opened the Gamecube once and checked out it's insides and it's nothing more than a poorly soldered motherboard inside a tank-like shell of plastic. Since there's so few moving components (as opposed to PS2's disc tray or Xbox's hard-drive) Nintendo consoles are cheap and durable.

Like pretty much everyone says, Nintendo just makes a game console... that's it. Microsoft and Sony try to make affordable mini-computers. This business plan has its advantages and disadvantages but that's a whole other topic and we've gotten pretty offtopic already :D

Still... 700 ducatz... that's amazing although it's pocket change for Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.

I dunno if you ever saw it, but there was this video floating around of a game magazine (or site) that took the ps2, the xbox and the gamecube and put them through several very damaging tests. The equalizer was when they dropped each system (The same ones that had been through every other test, including having a sledge hammer dropped on them) and dropped them from a 2 story height.

The ps2 wouldn't even turn on
the XBox froze at the startup logo
and the Gamecube, while the lid wouldn't stay closed, worked and loaded perfectly fine.

It may be poorly soldered...but it's built like a tank.

Now now children, we know the gamecube is a large piece of plastic with a small amount of machinery inside, but that generally has zero to do with Valkyrie Profile. I'll have to ask you to stay on topic.

And to vaguely do so myself I'll comment about the game. I kind of wish I wasn't constrained by the time system of the game... I mean, I can understand why they'd do it and it makes a lot of sense and whatnot, but I consistently find myself 'finishing' all the events of the chapter and have like 9 periods left to just wander around aimlessly, running through some dungeons fighting monsters just to grind or something.

And that's basically my only gripe with the game so far.

EDIT: I don't know how I didn't notice there were two of these topics...

I finished the A ending the other day. The only thing I don't like about it would be that some of the dialogue is pretty stupid... Other than that it's a great game. It has tons of variances between modes, tons of characters, freedom like no other game, and so much more. I'm going to replay in Hard mode so I can get the flame jewels.
