As of now I have not posted any screenshots for version 4.0 but I have one now! here is a screenshot of 4.5 with its new command bar(The bar with the close and minimize button) and everything!!

Hey guys, this is formlesstree4, the main programmer of scrive (yay).

Anyway, looks like rpgmakerwhat has kept you guys up to date, and scrive has come a long way since version 1 (found an old post, and nearly lol'd at how much it has changed.)

Just making sure everything is working as we get 4.5 b2 out. I'll tell you right now, I have a new feature for you guys that's just kicking my a** by not working....but its a simple button that adds the selected script from the online database right to the offline database. Of course, to do this, I had to change database types. Our current one only accepts up to 8000 characters, but this new one (access db) does 63,999 characters. I can manually add in the scripts, but trying to do it via the program...keep's erroring, but I'll figure it out soon guys.

But please, keep me posted on any bugs you find, or just give us feedback!

Okay guys, listen up. The link below is for 4.5 beta 2. This is not a mandatory update, because there are a lot of changes in the organizer.

If you do wish to use beta 2, please download and install this driver from microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

If you don't, then Scrive probably won't load correctly, so please make sure that you have this installed.

Feature list for 4.5 Beta 3:
>> Ability to detect if you are offline or online
>> If above reports online, you are given choice for Scrive Online or Organizer
>> If above reports offline, the organizer automatically loads, but you can attempt to swap to the Online if it reports a connection.
>> Possible changes in layout.

Update May 11th, 2009: Scrive 4.5 Final

We released a update to beta 2 which we will release as the full version of 4.0 that fixes the problem with vista. The problem was that vista hates files being saved in certain areas so it requires admin acess to make them. we made it so the files save in an area that vista likes basically. Anothe problem was with the files that came with scrive, for this update to work you need to delete the files below in the install spoiler...

Note: All Vista users must do this for scrive to work without admin acess! BEST WAY TO DO IT IS UNINSTALL SCRIVE COMPLETELY THEN REINSTALL WITH NEW INSTALLER!!

Install:

Using installer:

[b]1. Download the update manually from scrives website

Or update scrive using the updater! (Most likely have to update manually due to bug in scrive 4.5 beta 2)

 

2. Install scrive as needed...

 

3. Go to My Computer then navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Last Resort Entertainment\Scrive (Dont mind the (x86) that is for x64 bit computers)

 

4. Delete all the following files if they exist:

 

Scrive 4.5.application

Scrive 4.5.exe.config

Scrive 4.5.exe.manifest

Scrive 4.5.pdb

Scrive 4.5.vshost.application

Scrive 4.5.vshost.exe

Scrive 4.5.vshost.exe.config

Scrive 4.5.xml

 

5. Make sure the following files exist:

We released a new version of scrive.. hopefully this is the last time we need to update due to a huge bug within the next week! This update fixes the following problems:

Scrive's data server is gone. Apparently, no money for payments.
Until further notice, Scrive will not work. It will error on you every step until you get into the organizer.

We're looking for a host to redirect traffic to, but don't hold your breath. Scrive Organizer will be released soon, and so will a beta of Scrive Offline. We'll get the online back up soon, but I don't know when.

If you can help us out here, please let us know.

We are working on a fix for scrive 4.5 as we speak!! We suggest if you have scrive 4.5 installed mine as well uninstall it as we are using new servers for everything including automatic updates! The update should be out asap, by tomorrow most likely if not then in an hour or so!

Also I have updated the offline version of scrive, scrive 3.0(Version 3.5). You can download it below. I added all the scripts that were in 4.5 to 3.0.

We are coming a long very well with scrive 5.0 and a release may be expected soon. Dont expect much though it is only a alpha release :D.
