There are some shade error, in the mountain corners. ;) Further it looks good! But you may fill it up a bit.

Shouldn't there be a railing on the left end of the bridge?

You're also missing one shadow tile, but I'm sure you see it. EDIT: Nevermind, just noticed the event.

Flamerfox, that looks great, the only thing is the water should look darker where the cliffs are the lowest. i.e. it should gradually get darker as it gets deeper.

The sideways railings are a small thing that I'll fix another time, for now I'm eager to post my project thread and release a tech demo. I'll also fix the tree shadow thing later, it'll do for now.

Oh, and here's a screenshot of my CMS, theres an error or two in the other parts of it, and the text is a bit small for the windows, but it's being fixed as I type this.

As I said, I'm eager to release something, anything, so the map itself is a placeholder. It was literally a 20 second photoshop edit.

@ Adrenaline Rush, I quite liked the Kraken, sure it wasn't very RTP, but if one looks at the battles in final fantasy 6, the enemy battlers looked different from the player's sprites. It still worked though lending the game a fun story book/ weird japanese console rpg feel. And lol Stevo, his dialogue should be able to manage for the sprites I think. Maybe some emoticons too.

Screenshot of the 8-bit tileset that me and kiniko are working on. Character is a placeholder of the main character ATM. HUD is all event based.
 
That's so cute! I love the retro thing, and even though I'm totally getting awful flashbacks to 2D Mario games, the trees look so...tree-ish! That's great!

Uhm, it's nothing neat, but I assure you, there's a reason why there's so much alcohol in one room. This used to be an item shop, you know, but the superbly inspiring RTP gave me the idea that you should be meeting your first party member in a messy psuedo-pawn shop. D:
 
There would be no point in having two lamps side by side and the sofa is facing the wall... Even if there was lots of alcohol, I doubt it would be left in clusters on the floor. The rug is also a little off. It should strtch under that wall tile below as should the rug in the lower half. The cutoff cabinet top right doesnt work either.

EDIT: Just read pawn shop which I guess excuses the sofa and lamps, though I think they would still be more likely to keep the sofa at least facing the way that people could still sit on it.
