der_general, where'd you get them cliffs? Would like to find the artists tileset and study how s/he worked the rocks out, and what program s/he used.

I've been working virtually nonstop these past two days on mapping my village. (Thanks Game Academy for giving me the little extra push that I needed.) For those of you who have been following The Healer, you'll notice some substantial changes. It's obviously unfinished but I've made a lot of progress. You can tell that I spent the most time on the church area. I still need to add variations to some of the buildings and add vegetation. This is the largest map I've made to date. Usually I connect a bunch of smaller maps. Would love to hear feedback.

The perspective is wrong on a lot of your objects and it makes the map look flat. You should be able to see the top and side of everything. For example, the pot and the beer glasses you should see an oval for the top, as though you were also looking down on it (and slightly in front).

What really makes it odd is that some of them, like the forest canopy and the tables, are right.

They look nice, Racheal, but the one sprite who is talking should have more animation in his features, it looks like he's having fun saying whatever it is he is saying, but his sprite doesn't reflect that. :\ If you use something as detailed as Half-Kaizers, at least put the details to good use. And if you were so totally planning that without me saying anything, ignore me~ It does look good. I also agree with Raiju, you should watch your perspectives.

@Raiju: Yeah, perspective is something we've been fighting with. Thanks for pointing out some of the objects that need the most help.

@Twin Matrix: Our artist Makio did all the tilesets and sprites herself. About all I contributed to them was a couple objects and coloring the face pictures.

@J.D. Slasha: They are quite a nice template to work with ^_^ and thank you.

@Rye:
(Still have to make poor Darin actually sit in his chair...one of these days)
Yep, that would be on our list of things to do. It just scares our artist a bit so she's been avoiding it.

No, I didn't mean about him sitting, but looking more animated while talking, as it sounds like he should be smiling while talking since by his text, he looks excited. ^^;;

Have you ever played Shining Force II? That reminds me of like a MAD version of the Phoenix's visit to the new town in the early game.

Nice work neo bro.. But theres a pretty obvious mistake on the DOUBLE DOOR..
Just look at the handle and Imagine opening it.. well I just point it out because its really obvious..

Most of them are from White Ties. I also see a carpet autotile by ccoa.

Neo, the RTP style sprites look bad next to the White Ties sprites. The doorways are really, really tall. Judging by the sprites, about 10-12 feet tall. You've also got a stairway that runs up against the far wall. Where would it come out?

EDIT:

Remember the old PC game Skiing? Well, meet the RMXP equivelent.
