Dawnwanderer. I don't mind the screenshot. But it really reminds me of a cottage area or something. Minus the water.

Anyhow. I've been playing around with cave designs for my project. Right now it's okay but I can't seem to give it that little extra I want. Any idea's or comments?

The Man: The walls are a little straight, and the are so bright that they really jump out at you, (but then, that's not neccessarily bad).

He mean about putting heart to maps Just go out of house and you can see: in real isn't much space like on this map :3
But Dw if you hard train you can make better maps Work on empty space.

Exactly. It can't really be tought. For me it's all about planning what I want to do before I start mapping, that way I don't allow tilesets to limit me so much. I try to think, what will make this town different and what will make people want to explore it.

Dawn wanderer - that actually has already started to improve. You have started to add somethings other than houses etc. Think of real towns, look around, they have loads of things around and about. If you want to get maps to look much better, your going to need to combine tilesets.

Dawn. I do see it looks better. Still though, like I said earlier I didnt mind it to start with. BTW- What is that ord-ish thing in the top right?

Anyway, I took Roman Candles advice and edited some of the cave wall tiles. I came up with this.

I've been way too depressed and busy to work on my game, but I finally got a break from homework and buckled down and finished pixeling-up Ryan's kitchen. As soon as I finish implementing this map into the game I get to work on my tutorial, which will be fun as hell... I hope...

Tutorials in my game are like... Ok, you know those old-school 1050's health and safety videos about dating, drunk-driving and the cold war? Yeah, like that :3

Still working on it. I have to do some pillars under the walking platforms as they can not just umm levitate. Yeah, this is the WIP of the outter city tilest.
