advanced tactical strategy battle system?

Tt is not an TBS at all really right?. Maybe you could call this too this way, but all 'tactical' battle systems have the higher lower ground thingie (like ff 'tactics'). ATSBS (active time strategy battle system) is liek what you made. Or what, is that the abbrev?
 
Ah, Meâ„¢ got it right. It's an Active Time Strategy Battle System.
A combination between an ATB and a TBS. With an Active&Wait mode like a normal ATB. But for now the ground tiles lighning are sometime screwed up when too many characters move or attack at the same time.

It looks good, and I'm a bit curious of how it would work. Are we talking real time?

We are. And it's actually quite interesting to play.

It works like a normal ATB actually. The bars fills up, and when someone can act, it moves and do something (if it's an enemy), or the player chooses the actions for characters.
The difference is that more than one character can act at the same time. The player can choose between the Wait mode (the time stops when he's choosing actions for his characters) or the Active mode where everything goes on no matter what's happening.
 
I wondered what you were doing with that project! If you're going to release a public version of yours, maybe I won't bother releasing mine... Trying to figure out easy ways to interface the RMXP editor with a TBS script has proved exceedingly tedious for more, for some reason.

Indeed, it is. I'm still hesitating between a 'within-database' setup or a 'within-script editor' setup.
 
Sicarus, give us more light! Atmosphere is one thing, but that's just too much. Try making the light bubble a little larger, or making the whole screen a bit lighter. Also, the crystals don't look good on the walls, they look 'tacked on.'


Ccoa, that looks much better. The styles compliment each other nicely. I see you've added some pictures to the walls, I can't wait to see the other two. (I'm assuming two of them are just placeholders; I know you wouldn't knowingly repeat something like that)

One thing I noticed tho, there's no lighting at all. I trust you'll add in some light fixtures soon? Also, how can the bartender fit behind the bar? You should move it away from the wall. Looks great so far!
