thanks

the only issue I have at the mo' is if I have to make a cosmetic fog for a map that is bigger than 20-15 squares as the fogs are 640-480px images and wont scroll with the rest of the map.

I'll get there eventually though.

They don't have a size restriction persay but they don't scroll at the same rate as the map, so if you walk beyond 640x480 it messes up cosmetic fogs. I think. Or is that panoramas too?

Just checked. I was right. If the fog dimensions matches the map dimension it'll scroll and everything stays in alignment.
But this is in rmxp. I think scripts are required in VX and Ace.

problem is I cant set it up as a fog (I used picture instead) as that would involve setting up a different tileset for each map, each one with the correct fog and I wouldn't be able to change the fog (to add flicker effects) as there is no set fog feature in rmxp (or at least not one I know how to access)

all I need now is to find a way to convert my maps into .png files and keep them to the right scale... that or sit and print screen a hell of a lot.

So here is the trailer for the release of Menagerie, you may get hyped if you wish.

Special thanks to Andinator, Xzygon, TktheKnight, Apoc, Usagi Shinobi and FelicitousArtisan for the VA assistance.

The space battles look fun. You made the trailer sound epic.
Yeah, that was sorta the plan, I'm glad I got the voice actors I did. I'm also glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah, the space battles are pretty fun, but I think the funnest is the optional boss battle, I'm going to add in another optional boss or two if I can.

The Countdown begins.
So I'm going to be inactive everywhere until the twelfth until I get the game done. Just so you folks know.

I always get a little peeved that no matter how many times I post this, it's still in relative obscurity. Behold! A utility to convert all your maps, including events, fogs, and panoramas, with correct priorities, to PNG images! There's even a helpful little command in there to save ALL maps at once to save you some clicking.

To be fair, it's a hard thing to search for unless they type exactly "image map maker".
Someone's first search might be "map screenshot script"; you can image how well that would work. Well, google is pretty smart. But the forum's search bar is going to bring up pretty much every other topic.

OK, I renamed it "Map Screenshot Image Maker Script". I rather like that. It's so huge and awkward it's kind of cute, like a baby elephant.

Unfortunately that's not likely to help as the forum search sorts explicitly by post time. There's no attempt at a "here's what's probably most relevant to you" criteria, so the only way people can find it easily by searching is if people are always posting about it. Incidentally it should be pretty easy right now for someone to find the last couple of posts in this topic and follow my link from there.

Anyway, back on topic...I haven't mapped for a long time and I have a small project that must be done within two weeks. I whipped these two maps up tonight and I'm thinking I'll make two more the same size tomorrow and call that enough (I said small, and I said it has to get done). How do they look?
