pretty cool... I'd say maybe subtley change the tone of the ground level grass/mud so that it stands apart from the elevated areas. at the moment the whole thing kind of blends together so defining the ground from the hills/cliffs would help this a lot.

heres an example of what I mean

other than that though, I thinks its lovely.

THESE ARE PROGRAMMED ALREADY. They are not faux screens. You can go into full screen mode as well as stay on the normal sized screen.

We are still working on Amalie's (the main girl character) walking around the map sprite sheet motions. We have the basic ones done. A demo should be in the works soon. A very simple demo aka new game and walking, jumping, attacking around the map I made.

Very... interesting. In a nice way!

@search discussion earlier: I am going to remake the search bar tonight, if I can find the files. If you have any suggestions let me know, but it will be generally a lot better.

Some new screens from my secret 2D reverse platformer! Still touching up on some graphics before release, but the gameplay is all done and ready to ship.

Hey there, I finished Enex2, at long long last. Everyone should go check it out! (Link in my signature)

Since it's been so darn long, I've decided to post some old screenshots of the game in order to accrue, if I'm lucky, a bit of interest! =P

fimbelnglacislk5.png

Here is a picture of the pristine Fimbeln Glacis. While the marshy Ninurta Stagnants lie at it's the feet, the putrefaction and rot of that area are unable to reach this frozen mountain. It always snows here, and a small village is nestled upon the mountain. There have been some rumors of cult activity within the village, but nothing conclusive, especially seeing as how a temple honoring the ancient hero, Rekkesh, is in the village.

crossingthechasmzy0.png

Part of the Fimbeln Glacis area mentioned earlier, here is a reflex based minigame where you must cross a gaping chasm. Your mage has managed to create a delicate ice bridge. Of course, constructing the ice bridge is very difficult, and cannot be made perfectly. As such the blocks tend to be a.. scattered. If you step on the ice bridge, the slipperyness will cause you to constantly be moving forward, so don't slip off! Theo can blow gusts of win at you to make you do a Jump up, right, left, or down 2 spaces. The reason the bridge appears to be missing the south block to get your character over there, is that as you step on a block it melts very shortly after, causing you unable to jump backwards and forwards over and over again to think for a bit.

nalacfirecrystaldodgingux9.png

One of the dungeon challenges that you will get roped into. The crystals will glow red, causing a steam of fire to flow across the field. You have to see which crystals glow red to know where the fire will be next and then get out the way before it roasts you!

fimbelncaveqw6.png

Deeper in the Fimbeln region lies a frozen cave with magma running through it. How does the ice remain unmelted? Some say it may have something to do with the strange rumors of a particularly vicious haunt dwelling in the cave. Some claim it some strange phantasm of fire, while others claim it has an ice like affinity. Other say there are, in fact, TWO wretched spirits living in the cave.

Basically a blue line runs across the tile of ice blocks. You can only step on where the blue line went, if you step elsewhere, you will crack through the ice and fall into deadly magma!

Oh wow they look fantastic.

Did you stretch up the image size for the screenshots or does your game stretch up the rendered buffer? It makes it look better

lol took 9 days for someone to post the first screenshot of the year.

looks pretty though, loving the shines on the water.
also, I really like the HUD, simple but neat and practical.

Not that I'm an expert mapper, but I am very obsessive compulsive! So take my suggestions as just suggestions. xD

Blue lines are where the plants make geometrical patterns that bug me. *twitch* I'm not too sure what you could do about the ones on the bottom left, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. The triangle in the middle was the first thing I saw when I looked at the screenshot. I honestly don't know why. :x Purple circles are where I feel an extra plant or two could be placed.

Might want to do something about the jagged shadows from the cliffs, they look funky.
The tree placement is excellent, noting to report on that.

It could use some grass, weeds, etc. to liven things up, and the big open spots Guardian noted could be filled with an NPC or a shopstand or something around that line.

I took away one of the plants so that it wasn't as bad. Although there wasn't much I could do about the one on the cliff...

I assumed this was bad and tried to rectify it but I think I just made another triangle :/

I tried as best I could to fill those spaces. In the bottom one at first I put a girl and a boy running around a log but quickly realized that when the player got in the way it messed up them running around the log. So I just put some barrels and crates there.
I had to take out a plant cause the passability meant you could get up to the cliff at the bottom of the screen.

I'd also say that bare bit in the top left... if its visible in game
I tried to rectify this too. Just threw some trees up there :P

I didn't exactly get what you meant about that, so I just removed the shadows altogether.

Thanks! I've been bad with tree placement since I started using RPG Maker so it's nice to know I got it right for once! :D

I mentioned that I rectified it.
I was going to put a shop stand there but then I put the crates and barrels next to that one house and decided that would be the shop.
I did also put an NPC there. It's a guy riding a horse. I thought it would match the scenery since it's quite country.

Thanks for the feedback everybody! It really helped! :'D
