So after looking at the first part of bacons tutorials and a lot of prompting from Jason:

What ya think?

Some of the icons are hard to understand, and I don't like the circular golden framing. The game seems to be in gray and red palette and the yellow seems a bit out of place. Maybe plain white?
Thanks for the feedback! Didn't design them myself but I can let my artist know. The color scheme isn't quite set (this is just the lava world) but you're right, more consistent colors would look better.

Your backgrounds should be less contrast than your foreground. Especially if you are using simple colors like that.
It would be unfair if I died because i thought the background was the foreground.

But it might not even be a platformer so idk
Yeah, the second screen can be a little difficult to tell. We're still brushing up on some of the backgrounds/tilesets (a lot of things were rushed to get out a demo for a deadline) but I'll be sure to go over these again!

(Indeed it is a Metroid-esque platformer with certain powerups and abilities, good guess.)

This is only a title screen. More to come when the original is complete.

Your game is so gorgeous xD
The English is a bit interesting, but I can see what you meant (it's mostly a grammar issue).
Yeah. Grammar is one of my worst enemy when i study english -_-;;...
But also it is the most important thing in english.. I think i should study english now since it's been a while i studied.

Just so you know, "English" is spelt wrong. It looks great though.

LOL Just find that out. :-/

WHOOP

A youtube video of my game's opening scene.
(+ You can see some of my game's system. ex> Loading bar at the first is part of game's optimization.)
With the help of voice actor, I applied fresh new voices for the hero. It is very short but I think it isn't bad.

Oh and looks like the capture program was a bit screwed off and there's some lag on the video.
But I usually don't have them so you don't need to think about that.

DJ I honestly think this game is very promising. It might even knock Vacant sky out of the top spot for me. Keep working on it man! The voice acting is alright too.
Edit: Also, in regards to translation, I'd suggest getting some cleaners in to clear up some of the grammatical issues and stuff. Like, get someone who knows your language as their first language to translate it into english, then get cleaners to clean it up and make it correct. If you get what I mean.

Can anyone offer their thoughts on this bridge?

I know I need to work on the ground, both the grass and the dirt, and on highlighting the path the player walks down (thank you Regi for the advice). Right now though I'm trying to make an interesting bridge and I'm not sure if it fits.

I tried a blue pallette but it didn't seem to blend in well, so I went with a more natural tone.

The thin patch of dirt in the middle seems weird to me. I would just have the bricks going into the water or not at all since it's a small bridge. The arches look like they would just fall down. It needs bricks laid around the curve to support it. Or you could make those top 4 blocks into one long piece. There's a term for that design, I just can't remember my art history.

Thanks, this is a bit quick and sloppy but am I moving in the right direction? Also I added tufts at the base to try and blend it into the grass more naturally.

Yes. It would be better if you could lay them at angles rather then straight up and down. Giving the top key stone a V shape. But that can be difficult to achieve.
I just hit me, but it could use a shadow underneath. With the water I would have 2 shadows, one touching the ground and the other along the surface of the water. Something like this, but not with a straight edge. Although you could probably get by with out it.

@jason: The new one looks good. My feelings about the crystal are mixed; just as long as it has significance.

Second Title Screen without a doubt. The first just looks like a placeholder.
Coyotecraft hit the nail on the head I feel, the shadow really adds something to the bridge!

Awesome Bro

Yeah it was a placeholder, never meant to be permanent, just wanted to show a before and after lol, I've got to thank DJ too, since he created a title screen, which wasn't 100% what I wanted (Still looked great though), but I was able to take elements from it and used them elsewhere, I didn't want something too busy, I prefer a nice clean titlescreen, I think I hit the nail on the head with this.

I am glad that you think my game is good enough :D

Yeah, grammar... That's a bit of a problem. I'll try to find someone who can do that. Thanks for the advice

DJ, if you want somebody to help with translation my brother might be willing. Not that I can volunteer him for this sort of thing, but he's been living in Korea and learning the language and I think he might like this sort of project.
