For me, i find words and make them work, i try and be different, i try and think outside the box.
I have seen so many generic titles or titles that don't even pop, i'm gonna stick with my guns on this, and go with what i'm going for, if people play my game, great.. if they don't? That is there loss for being too ... too... technical about stuff.

It's hard as HELL to be original now days, everything has been done to hell and back, my game is just now showing light a little too late, cause my ideas are already being done...

So what ever, i am so close to throwing my hands up and just quiting the RPG Making thing... cause people are too critical of things.. it has to be this way, it has to be that way, it has to be like a pro made it, it has to be this.. or that.. i'm doing this as a hobby, not to make money or some BS.

I only wanted input on little things... and people become so... so.. i don't know what....

Because i'm not a friggen genius and i have ... troubles i won't even go into about myself, this crap is difficult, i have been trying to learn scripting forever, and nothing i read sticks...
Hell... things i thought i was good at, seems i'm not now..
And don't give me the drama card, i'm not being dramatic, i am just aggravated like crazy.... well i have settled on some things, if i ever get this game really out there... people will like it or hate it.. i don't care..

I looked up the word Twisted by the way, it means a few things, high and drunk being one thin..
It can also mean, when something is a 'different' version. kinda like unique or not what anyone would expect. in other words, they put a 'spin' on the usual things.

Twisted can also mean altered, crazy, strange, insane.
To me, that all translate into funny, i think crazy things can be funny.

I also found all kinds of meanings here http://www.thefreedictionary.com/twisted
So i think it works well.

Okay, Twisted Fate. Bring out the "twist" element, maybe? I know it's kind of gimmicky to have a title and then show the words in the title in the screen, but what with it being a retro game that's slightly silly, how about making a logo that has a curl in there somewhere? Just a thought, maybe not a very good one.
Is there an important plot element that you could show on the title screen? Final Fantasy games use this way of styling their title screens/logo's. The title in simple letters but adorned with art that represents a character (Yuna and the dance in FFX) or a plot event (the Meteor in FFVII), it's a simple technique that looks visually appealing. Of course it's a franchise that has recognizability to think of as well.

But yeah, if you can somehow make a pretty logo with your letters that uses some kind of clever visual pun with the title or with something that plays an important role in it (as I said, twisted? maybe have one of the letters curl around the sword if you so want it there.) Your title can be interpreted in different ways, so just show which way you mean through the visuals on the title screen. If you're happy, you don't HAVE to do much more, but if you wanna go to the highest point you can go, think about this to make your game more COMPLETE (the title screen IS the first thing a player sees, so it should draw them in!)

You have made the most sense by far...
I went with the title after playing WarioWare:Twisted..
I'm trying to go with something that at least lets them know it has swords and such in it, but yet it's light hearted and goofy, the latest font i went with seemed very light hearted...
Hmmm hard to portray things for me..... i feel so dumb right now...
I was trying to avoid doing anything that has been done by others to.
I don't wanna do what square does with titles... that is there thing, ya know?
That's why i chose a font i thought looked happy, and made it kinda bright.

Woah, man. Don't look at it that way. RPG Maker isn't like big gaming. It's a community effort - everything that you put into RM comes from the community based around it. We're only trying to help you get more out of the experience. Do you think anyone on this and all the other boards across the net would post and/or submit resources for people to use if they wanted to see people fail. Some could contest, but I can't. What I'm trying to tell is not necessarily how to make your game, I giving you advice on how you can change the image of your game to better suit the ideas your sharing with us. I have nothing wrong to say about the title choice - the title graphic, however, doesn't truly reflect what you said about your narratives tone. This is what Skyla mentioned.

Here are my suggestions. The font needs to imply more of that comic nature you mentioned. Something less standard. Browse DaFont.com and find something that catches your eye. In a title, the font choice can really reflect how you want the game to appear. With the right portrayal the emphasis of the actual title can be changed. As for a background - keep it simple.

If you'd like, I'm open to make a title graphic for you, provided you give me good details. I want to show you what I mean about portrayal.

Well, this is my latest iteration, and i got the font from DaFont.com actually, it looked light hearted, and fantasy-ish.

I think that looks way better than any of your previous screens. A few things:

  1. What's with the gradient being different on each letter? The messed up line in the middle looks...messed up. Maybe also consider something more subdued. Maybe a gentle satin effect instead of a gradient, or a simple low contrast custom gradient. Possibly try an orange color base on the title to make it stand out. A soft bevel/emboss effect would also give it more depth.
  2. The sword doesn't look that great but it's OK. It would be nice if the title were as short as the sword, and also if the sword were thinner.
  3. Make the bottom of the background darker (so the whole thing is lower contrast - in Photoshop terms, do a Brightness/Contrast with decreased contrast and increased brightness; I tend to use legacy mode for this kind of thing).

The font was supposed to have a shiny silver look...
I love everything about it, thankyou all for your input, but i'm going to go with what i got, I like it a great deal and i don't feel like always working on it...
My game might not ever get done anyhow, which is fine.. i spend more time tinkering with scripts than anything else... and i'm not even a scripter..
So gonna stop with this how it is, i love the sword..i like the placement of it, i like how it sits... i tried to simplify the thing more, i wanted it to go from dark at the top to bright at the bottom, it looks good to me.

So yes, thankyou all for your input on things.
Gonna do it how i like.

The gradient isn't based on the word, but on individual letters - the line is always 50% along each letter by the looks of it.

IMO dude this is a huge improvement over previous ones.

I have heard that before, someone will help and does not...
In the end i hear people say "learn to script" believe me when i say, i just can't do it.. and please no one sit there and try and convince me i can, i really can't.

You can do it if you try. And I mean really try, put in effort and invest time to learn programming. It won't be easy, you'll screw up a lot, but that's the only way to learn.

And from what I'm reading, it wouldn't be a bad thing to cheer up a bit. The man offered to help you, take his kind gesture and see how far you can get. You'll never get anywhere in the world just by running solo.

Sorry, was not meant to be rude.. i know he offered to help.. i was just saying things i been through in such situations..

I react wrong to some things.... sorry if i insulted anyone.. i did not mean to.

Nobody thinks you're rude or that you meant to insult anyone. I just think you're being a bit too negative about things and should give it a chance.
