In your first pic, a few of your trees appear to be floating over water. One of your logs seems to be stuck to a tree(1st pic) And all of the random crap that you put around it needs to go.

I think they were designed for that use.

In your first screen your tiles look horrible when they're lined up like that. Remember that nature is random. Also the colour of those trees is nasty.
 
Mustardy85  - You have way too many plants in a row! Spread them out, make it look more... natural! Also those leafless trees look too saturated!

GAH! Worse!  Worse!  You do not need NEARLY that much stuff, and especially not in rows like that!  Your first one was all right, all it needed was not-floating trees and a little more varience.

I don't really see anything that bothersome from the first screenshot, minus the trees in the river. The "After" ones, though; the flower-cluster feels rather unnatural. If it were pixel-by-pixel randomly placed flower cluster, then it would probably be nice, but the square-by-square formation feels a bit off. The colour of the yellow-ish trees are also a bit odd.

But besides the flower cluster thing, you seem to have a good sense of nature. It's easy to fix a few habits, but hard to gain a feel for it; so you're definitely on the right track!  :smile:
 
Unless it's some futuristic evil corporation that went back in time in order to sell advance weaponry to surpress a rebellion and put the ancestor of the president of said futuristic corporation on the throne... that's possible!

On another related topic, you should move those dead people away from the edges of the bridge, it looks weird the way it is now.

I like everything about it, from the 'glassy' panes the characters stand on to the correspondence between the sprites and the background characters.. It's got style.
 
bit bland imo, Inq made the set to include doorframes in that set to make doors look a bit less plastered-on, the house shape itself is a bit boring and you could possibly make use of some of the ivy he put in the set, strangely it doesn't tend to get repetitive even if you do overuse it, in my opinion anyway. The fog doesn't really add much to the map either, and the cliff is pretty straight, it's a tricky set to use (though undeniably a great one) and you seem to be getting to grips with how to put things together with it which a lot of people can't do so keep on going with it, I'd like to see more projects made with his set

I suppose I'm posting this screen both as a way of example and because I feel like like posting a screen, not that I consider it perfect by any means! Very old, very unfinished portion of a city wip, none of the events are in place obviously hence the broken "turret" area and lack of doors/lighting etc

ynlraey that's sweet as fuck, I love the aesthetic quirks that scripts give much more than custom systems, mainly because you're more likely to see a finished project with awesome looking menus than one with a custom battle system or whatever

I'm just experimenting with the makers (VX and XP)
to improve my mapping skills.
Maybe after a year i'm going to make a real game wich will have good looking maps i hope.

...jeez, you don't have to be such a douche about it. Maybe it would be nice if you told me a place where I could get some futuristic characters to fix this problem...?

Yeah, you're right, it does kinda look weird, thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it up. :thumb:
