It could pass for marble though.

But, do you mean there's a glass window, that the table is positioned upon?
Otherwise it looks awkward..

Malachi,
Lookin' pretty good. The one thing that bothers me though is that your water tile doesn't tile very smoothly.

Justice,
Too dark indeed, but it does look good based on what i can see.

Sailerius,
Nice colour palette! The mapping is fairly simple but if you keep the style consistent it will look good.

Thankyou for the kind comments everyone!

@JD: nope it's not recoloured, just Inq's with a fog and screen tone shift! The game, if it ever gets finished (or started :x) is about the 'vibe' really, getting a good atmosphere is the main intention because in terms of gameplay it's not particularly innovative (gee I sure am selling it here aren't I?)

I'm not going to include a single piece of music in it for said atmosphere, just background noise and sound effects. (this is actually just because I can't write my own music but shhh)

Experimenting with something different.  No big deal.

Haven't thought of a storyline yet... probably some sort of God who's tired of his pantheon's bickering so he possesses the body of a suicidal child in order to obtain the legendary Godslayer sword and destroy his fellow beings.

I don't think that the RTP works too well with that perspective. I've tried to do similar things with original graphics but always find that I lose the motivation. That looks really badass though and makes me want to get back to work on my sidescrollers.

Yeah, I'm thinking the biggest visual problem is the panoramas which make the tiles look like they're cut off and everything appears to be on a huge hill or something.  I'll probably have to make custom pano's for each map so the perspective doesn't get all skewed.

It would visually accurate if there were no floors like this:

But the RTP doesn't contrast enough to differentiate between floor and wall and it just looks so plain.

Still, just experimenting.

Is it RTP style, are you going to use RTP with it?
Also I thing this thing would look great, when shaded, are you going to add trees?

The character sets are going to be made originally on a modified template based on the RTP. RTP could potentially be used with it because the sizes will all line up, but I won't be doing it personally.

There will be trees, but nothing very leafy, and mostly shorter bushes. Picture the wild west, or the desert in southwest USA.

Nice, I like those screen Evincar Despain.
I would suggest the sand to the far the left. The contrast fits a bit better with that tile.

Good work though....for sandfall i presume?

We have already introduced this map but we want to share it with you one more time, now in playable mode.
Keep in mind that this is only a tech demo which features only one map and nothing else so far.
It isnt complete yet, a few things such as reflections in animated water are still missing.
If you would like to test the map in night mode, you will find a switch at the north of the map.

Note : you don't need rpg maker xp
