Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.
It's only a super rediculoulsy edited version of the orginal vex. The tileset has just a buch of tiny edits too. I messed mostly with contrast and satuation. Nothing really too fancy.
the tileset looks a lot better with just those edits, makes me like the RTP again.
I like the characterset, but those barrels look a bit too small for it, no?
anyway, I won't show much screens from this game because it's gonna be a pretty short one.
I'll feature mostly FF6 resources(some of them edited), although it's not an ff game, I just like atmosphere.
this is from the first town, took me like 1 hour to have a decent exterior, hopefully I'll learn how to map faster with time. http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/107/screen1gy0.jpg[/img]
the tileset was on charas page I think, I have to credit the author as soon as I can find it again in the 3284753 chipset pages that the site has <.<
Damn, looks nice! The water autotiles are a bit messed up though (where the pillar/walls stick up out of the water), you can fix that by double-clicking the autotile and opening the "Autotile Expansion."
The Pillar are Fuels of Energy. >.>;; I was thinking that the Windows would look nice, as a way of escape of energy. =X guess I'd have to change that & think of something then if it looks bad.
That looks awesome Raven, especially that nice big tree!
The only thing i'd suggest is to not place your path autotile under the mine cart tracks, as it gives the impression of being lifted off the ground somewhat.
@006
That map looks soo cluttered.. the fog isn't helping much either. I know you're trying to make it look pretty, but how in the world is the player supposed to navigate that? Or is he?
I don't normally show other people my works... But I would really like some constructive criticism on my edits and ideas, so I'll go ahead and show something. I don't get much support on my game's topic and I would like to get more replies...
So please tell me if my ideas are stupid or whatever I could do to get more replies^^
Here ya' go...

This is an edit to the FFT windowskin, I still have to change the color(probably, navy blue and black or something^^) I also edited the talk the that points to the character(forgot what it was called^^) All credits for this screen go to CCOA and Noobo/006 (noobo made the map^^) and I made the edits the the windowskin :thumb:
http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9141/titleyh0.png[/img]This is by far my favorite system my game uses. This title script was made special for my game by Hanzo Kimura, as was the logo. This Title system is completely animated; moving fogs and background, side-scrolling image menu, and never-ending rain. All credit goes to Hanzo for his patience and excellent graphic skills. Thanks Hanzo!
The Window Skin on the out side is a little bright. I don't really like how near the minimap, at the bottom it has minimap up-side down, it's a bit distracting. And the title screen looks great! :thumb:

Some more screens, not anything to brag about. :/
I think I should ditch the Lancer! http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/7150/icecavetx6.png[/img] http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/7731/snowyv3.png[/img]
Need to map better! :brain:
It's meant to be a small village. It has an Equipment Shop, an Item Shop, a Pub(The square one), and three two-floor homes. The village can be left anywhere on the left or bottom edges of the map.
This one is much smaller. The beginning of Watcher's Thicket, an area near Broma. Once a safe shortcut to the trade city of Relm, the thicket has recently been overrun by strange monsters, led by a creature nicknamed the Watcher by the villagers of Broma. Whether you want to investigate and put an end to the Watcher's hold over the thicket or just run like hell straight through is entirely up to you. I'll show more of the thicket as I get more of it done.
(The thicket is not as straight as this screenshot makes it look. This is the very first screen after leaving the world map.)
Mazoku- That tileset is sooo awesome! Your mapping looks pretty good, however the cliffs seem pretty straight in the town borders. Same deal for the trees in that forest.

Hehe yeah it is. It's Inq's medieval stuff from over at RPG Palace. And yeah, the squareiness of the cliffs is bugging me too. I'm still getting used to mapping cliffs.
