Heres the last picture from Ninurta that I will be posting, as I've posted enough from this area. "Fungrots" are sending deadly sporeclouds in the air and Theo must burn them all before it's too late! The flower is an item you're supposed to be collecting there, and yes, you can shoot the flower and you can shoot your friends. Theo can even shoot himself!

It'd be a stupid idea to try that though.

@Regimos: I see your point as to why the lantern makes more sense, but I think the white glow actually makes it hard to see around your character, which is why I thought maybe the other version might seem a little more visually appealing. I suppose try it and figure out?

You look like even though you had a hard time thinking up of the puzzles to use, it payed off, because the sewer puzzle looks quite interesting.

There is just something about the Screen Tone of your game that just strikes it as so...so...professional. It's going to be a fun ass game, I can tell.

Aha, Thanks! =) That means a lot to me.

Probably what youre thinking about is the recolor. I've recolored all my tilesets to be not quite so bright and a little bit off color. Also, I changed my swampwater from purple into green, and have used fogs over it. I appreciate the compliment very much!

So that's why it looks so different! The fog over the water really makes a nice effect. I like everything you're putting in your game, can't wait to try it.

And thanks for the comments on the sewer puzzle  It's actually a lot harder than it looks. I've evented a pushing/pulling system, and several times there are small holes in the floor that you can step on, but not the blocks!

@eric
That screen looks awesome  :thumb: and I'm sure that minigame is tons of fun. Looks like it to me! But how do you burn these "fungrots"? Is it some kind of spell?
Can't wait to play your game!

Here's a little minigame I've been working on.

(Im aware of the priority error with the tree being ontop of the bush)

The HUD will probably change later. But I haven't decided yet.
I guess I should explain it.
The top corner box has 3 transparent people in it. These 3 people are somewhere in the forest and need to be rescued! So, every time you rescue one of the 3 people, their image will light up in the box. Once you've saved all 3 of them, you have completed the minigame.
The box in the lower corner is for your current item. It's not easy saving those people, so you'll need to use some of the items you find in the forest for your rescues. You can only have 1 current item at a time.
By choosing a new item, it will get rid of your old current one.

But, some items won't work in the rescues. The trick is finding the right items for the right rescues.

Each person is in a different area of the forest, and you have 3 party members. You'll have to use all your party members to save them.

Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to RMXP.org, but I've been making games with RMXP for years. Here's some screenshots from my latest game, Death's Embrace (still in early stages). These are all from the Prologue, and the sprites are nearly all placeholders until I can make my own.

Becky the main character being introduced.

Seven years later in Becky's house. (The sparkling bits are area's you can interact with)

Searching in a basket and finding some bread! (This map still need's some work, and hardly any of the events are in)

First of all, thank you for the compliment!

Yeah, Theo is using a magic spell to kill the Fungrots. If you examine the picture you will notice the arrow. You can move the arrow around and the fireball will impact one unit above the arrow (Hence it pointing up)

Anyway, I must say that your screenshots look beautiful. I think the Grayness of the area adds perfectly to the rainy atmosphere. Your on screen displays look very orderly too. I like the idea of grabbing items from the scenery (I think) to use around. How might the Post stick thing be usable, or the rock?

Ah. Yea I see the arrow now. Sounds like a lot of fun

Thank you!
and yea, you're right. There are multiple things lying around the forest you can grab. But some of them are useless for certain rescues.
The post thing is pretty simple. If you're near one of the people who need saving, but can't reach them, (Say, they're on a small island in one of the lakes) you can use the post/pole for the person to reach out and grab, and then you can pull them to safety.
With the rocks, they can be used to make little bridges in the shallow lakes. You just throw them into the water to make new paths.

That sounds ingenious! I've always thought that it's impossible to make a puzzle in a forest, but now I think I can come up with some things. I'd never steal your ideas of course, but thank you!

It sounds like a ton of fun =)

Well, I guess I'll post a screenshot of a game I've been working on, have no title for it though.

You start out getting captured by pirates, and eventually the boat gets attacked, and you wash up on the beach.  Here's a small part of the beach you wake up on:

You can explore and find this cave....

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x22/ ... nshot2.jpg[/img]
And go through it to get this treasure chest, containing a skill Sphera(part of my game, semi-complicated to explain.)

Later, you find yourself in a forest, still trying to find some sort of civilization to rest at.  Thankfully, you spot a well needed merchant.  Now you can rely less on items you find in the wild, and you know you're close to a town, by asking for directions via question command (I guess similar to the Key Word system from Final Fantasy 2)

Yeah it is a bit too much fog lol I fixed it up hows this one?

Watch the tree shadows, it is easy to cut off the end like you have done on the left of your map.  I'm pretty sure anyway, the darkness makes it hard to make that definite.
