Hehe, well I hope I'll be forgiven for my dark screenshot, but here is the mine that was included in my tech demo.

This is the Abandoned mine they used to mine Iron during the war. As you can see both ends were digging towards eachother but they never reached each other. They got really close though. But you have to get across because the way to the mine cabin is broken and you cannot reach it any other way. You will find rats and bats in here that want a piece of you.

NEXT PERSON TO USE EXCESSIVE LIGHTING AND OVERLAYS GETS A TEN DAY BAN

not really but come on people can't you see how fucking HORRIBLE that shit looks

whoa, my maps and attempt at the effects are really that bad? -.-

Interesting how ugly your map is without any lighting effects. You are using lighting effects to mask your poor mapping ability, or simply poor understanding of Inquisitor's exterior tiles. I'm not sure which yet. Regardless, if you can't make a map look good with no cosmetic fogs, maybe you should look into some of the examples in the Mapping Academy.

For good measure, here is a map I did with Inquisitor's tiles that he himself thought was pretty good.

Note the lack of cosmetic fog.

@Black Shadow:
I still think that you should reshape the tail part of that ship due to the water resistance thing, or at least just make a smooth slanted edge leading to the fatter parts. The ship looks nice though, I really like the levels aspect of it.

In-progress character creation system.

When you move yer mouse over an option, it changes colour and saturation so that you can tell it's selected. Clicking it takes yer to the next scene. In the hair select scene, the armours aren't actually options, but when you move your mouse over them they appear over your character so you can see what it'll look like. Similarly, if you move your mouse over a hair style, it will show you what that hair style will look like. (If you move the mouse away it will keep at that selection until you move it over another selection).

Character sprite is a placeholder.

@Wyatt: that system looks very interesting, I really want to know how it works, is a script that puts various character pieces together or you have done one character for every combination (that would be a lot of characters).

I'm guessing the characters have sprites that are blank, and depending on what you choose, it places a picture at  a certain point on screen, change picture per key press. Very nice what ever you did.

I like it a lot. If possible, you should try to edit the Big Tree so it isn't entirely covered with snow, so it better matches the other trees.

One thing on that map that bugs me is the Snow covered Grass over-hanging so much on the edge of some parts of snow. I don't know, it just seems to put me off, otherwise reives, it a gorgeous map^-^

Lisker, that map(s) is great!! May I ask where you got the tileset from? I love it!

I did find one tiny error, and it was just a lucky find. On the section with the little dock and edit of woods town house on top if it. You know the place. Right to the left of that is a little clearing in which there is a well. That well has no bottom. :D

Great job!

@ Reives: if youre going to keep the large white tree like that, id suggest giving it a slighty blue hue. having just a plain white-gray pallet doesnt portray the coolness of the snow. you could even just take the snow pallette from the other trees.

Worldmap and cities is all RTP, and the dockhouse is a kraft tile edit. There rest is all RTP edits by me.

@arcanum, that looks great. I love the colors and shape of the tent. Nice job indeed.

Thanks guys. :) And ah, thanks for the helpful suggestions. The big tree has been a concern of mine, as I became lazy there, heheh. I originally wanted to do some actual edits, but lordnick's suggestion seems a lot more efficient for now (I've been looking at white tiles everytime I open up RMXP in the past few days. :x So tired of them.) And ah, I see what you mean Divine; will get to fixing it.

And yes, Bruno, there is backtracking in this chapter. :> I hope to show progression of the settings from the last time they were visited.

@Arcanum:
Ya got a cool distinctive style going on there. :) Good stuff.
P.S. Nice guitar, heheh.

I'm posting my world map here, just so everyonce can see the big overworld.
This is an edited version to look like a real, old map. The coastlines have been added in as well.

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f359/brunotherhino/small_map.png

The Red lines are transport links. Ie, Train and Boat. The blue line is the "Pantap Highway". A long road that links the major settlements of Grand Haven (the kingdom) together.

Here is also a full version. It's made by just snapping each of the maps together, unlike above.
WARNING: HUGE!
http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f359/brunotherhino/WorldMap-1.png

Edit: Dammit. Photobucket resized my image!
These are two (and a bit) Provinces of the Kingdom of Grand Haven. The lower Continent is called Satenzo, and the upper bit is called Fateno.

The starting village is on the bottom-right, on the peninsula there. It's called Saturi Headland. Then there's some story, and you find yourself in the village just North of there, Conlase Village, a village where the community has been ripped apart by the building of a garrison in the middle of town. You have to get to the fishing port, called Ocklavania, on the top-right. But the boat is broken, so you have to walk there the long way; going west, over the bridge, then north-east.

The other settlements you can see are "Satenzo Coast" that community on the southern coast. It's actually a holiday resort, so nobody 'lives' there per say. Fuergo village is on the top-right. You can't get there due to a broken bridge. It's a village that lives in the shadow of a Volcano. Ashdown Farm is in-between Fuergo Village and Ocklavania. It's just a big farm run by the Lateani Family.

The map is only going to get bigger from here on in. This is only a fraction of what is to come. As I said earlier, Grand Haven is split up into small counties. These are only two out of the planned five, not to mention the two kingdoms to the south.

The first chapter is nearly done, so expect to see a demo coming soon!
