Agreed, this map really sets the tone. You can totally imagine a quiet listening in to Gypsy music around a warm campfire, complete with crickets in the background.
 
In Vengeance, there are only four variables that affect your battle damage dealt and taken: HP, MP, Weapon Equipped, Armour Equipped. That's all. No fancy "4 STR, 5 AGI, 17 ATK, with 15 DEX means I'll hit 27659.558 damage 42% of the time", but just "this weapon does 1-7 damage, so it will do 1-7 damage, minus the armour of my enemy".

You might think that this will make all battles easy... Well, I have several characters setup to test things in my game. I happened to use the wrong character against a boss, and... it took a while, and then I died. I had 10HP, and 10MP, with the basic weapon and armour configurations.

The boss had 540 HP and was taking 4 or 5 damage every time I attacked it.

If I had used a better weapon I would have hit higher than that.

Also, skills are important here. With enough MP and a good enough skill, it wouldn't take long to beat this boss.

Well, here's a screenie.

The strange floor pattern marks where the falling rocks are. Stand underneath one and you'll get hit. They take about 1/3 of your HP away. (So if you have 6/10 HP left you'll end up with 2/10, but it will never kill you).

@Lisker: Lovely map, the trees are layered perfectly.
@Avadan: Nice blend, very sci-fi, though the pipeing provides a bit of clutter.
 
Wyatt, do you need character sprites or are you set on using the RTP Heroes?

Alright sorry for the hugeness. This below (v) is a screenshot of my new tileset. It's supposed to be sci-fi/present esque. I need to add a few tiles, and was hoping to get suggestions.

It's a very nice style brainstorm, it'd be better if the trees were able to blend together better,. The heavy use of the arrows seems slightly uneccesary and distracting. I really love the buildings though.

With an outline the character doesnt look so out of place

This looks damn sexay :O I love those cammo fighter jets and the whole way the map is done with cables conecting to the platforms and such. The charset indeed blends in nicely.

Brainstorm: The buildings look great really :)
 
@Wyatt: Those are some beautiful systems you've got there. I love that ABS, if it is one.  :D
@Brainstorm: I didn't like the buildings all that much, but they aren't bad either. The grass, trees, flowers, and the road(?) look really great, though  ;)

Can somebody link me to the japanese demo of RMVX (if it isn't illegal)?

@Malachi: No offense, but I was asking about how how/good my map is, not comments on the Autotiles. I don't mind them, but can you give me some feedback on the map, in general? Thanks.

Don't worry, I've increased the resolution of the first autotile (rather than the stretched thing). Now tell me what you think of it.
