The Mirror Lied

Heheh, thanks Chimmy, I appreciate that. And my apologies for being rather vague in my responses to you.

Thanks for the comment, seita, and glad that the wtf-ness provoked some interest. Speaking of which, I just noticed Venetia's edit; that comparison with that form of French poetry is rather fitting, I believe. The enjoyment of this game, when and if there is some, stems solely from the interest arose from the process of interpreting it by the player - I take no credit for that. Again, this is quite a risky experiment on my part, but seeing the interpretations of everyone is certainly very, very fascinating to me.

Anyhow, taking a break to something more light-hearted. . .

This game was... different....

It was enjoyable because of the purpose that it was trippy and out there! However because so many things did stuff I started to get the idea that everylittle thing could affect things. I spent ages changing clothes and seeing if thatwould affect anything. I tried interpreting the birdie which I took to be in relation with the actual clock-hand itself. Also will anything happen if I don't have the gun to shoot the birdie with? ...Aparently not.

I enjoyed the game style so much that I became disapointed that many things did little more than sit there, or play a tune, or make you look different. I came to hope and expect something storyline inflicting from every action.

I guess for me it's just  case of too many red herrings, still yet again I must admit that I actual did waste 3hrs on this. Well I didn't waste the three hours but for a fifteen minute gameplay target (fist play through) I was enthralled (is that right?) enouh to spend 2hrs +45mins extra on analysing every little object to death. (Including trying to figure out if there was a way to look at those cuboards without them disappearing afterwards!)

@Ultimaodin:
Heheh, I was a little worried that that might happen. I've also heard that someone tried each of the three dresses to play through in hope that there would be different endings. A lot of the stuff did make me go "ugh, there are so much materials to split the endings from", but at the end I just lazied out and decided I've heard enough of its title theme for the week, heh. Perhaps I'll make a more elaborated version from the current contents sometimes. c:

@Bruno:
What time is it?

I just played the game and I must say it's confusing. It took me 40 minutes to finish it. My younger brother was watching as I played and whenever I got stuck in game's progress he would give me some useless advice. When I completed the game he asked me "What's this game about?". I didn't know. Then I realized. The game has no meaning. The game has no story. The game has no sense. It could be interpreted in milion ways.

It might not be so, but I believe that "birdie" is called "birdy" in one part of the game.

After the explosion in the basement, I got stuck in the staircase once.

And I don't know why people think "birdie" is bad. The continents are probably dissapering because of some disaster, which is never said to be "birdie". "Birdie" may be hope, and you must hold onto hope even if everybody tells you not to. In the game, those e-mails tell you to kill "birdie", to abandon hope.

Finaly, my interpretation of the story would be:
It was all happening inside the girls head. She has been thinking about suicide. Birdie was the hope she got left. But she fell under the pessure, and when it seemed like she would be saved, the shot was not fired in the dream but in reality. The dissapearing continents actually represent her world dissapearing.

@Haki:
Heheh @ the useless advices from your younger brother, that's actually kinda adorable.
Many thanks for bringing up that interpretation. I had some similar response on somewhere else about "Leah actually stepped off the roof rather than the (non-existent) bird picked her up", although I think your's seem much more plausible.

@xykudy:
You should be getting a call in the bedroom upstairs that gives you some hint. If you did get that, then I'll direct you to the first screenshot posted in first post as a big hint. :p

Oh you know, I never told you my interpretation of the game!

I thought Leah was a test subject for a virus that was to be unleashed on the world (or perhaps an antidote for it).  I didn't think that carefully about the details, but I figured she had to kill herself or destroy the antidote before it spread throughout the world.  I'm also relieved that I read the responses on this thread before going back and playing more after George finished, because I was planning on trying all these different things like trying to leave while the house was on fire (to kill the things in the microscope), or writing down all the dates you had on the wall and looking them up for some historical significance.

All it did was tell me to go to the basement cause the table wasn't there. But, of course, it's locked.

If mem'ry serves me correct... Using the Wooden Key on the chest of drawers in the downstairs bedroom should get you a pistol, or maybe another key which can open that box in the basement or something.

Ain't got no keys. All's I have is a Piano key, two bullets, some pesticide and the bucket.

If I remember right, Switch 1 in the basement should shift the bookcase in the study room. You should be able to get a wooden key from there, then, and open one of the thingies in the bedroom to obtain a tiny key. The gun can be obtained by using that tiny key to open the locket in the basement.

@miss matcha:
Ah, cool; that's the first time I've heard that one. c: Speaking of which, did the micro-organism look like viruses? I kind of intended it to try to provoke some thought toward biological warfare or the like, but I just ended up pulling off the first micro-organisms I googled. :x
