The Food Thread

According to other people that have seen my ramen, I undercook my noodles very badly.

I hate anybody who says this about food I cook. It may be undercooked to them, but if I've cooked it, I've cooked it how I like it. I hate when TV chefs go on about scallops and shit saying if they're not rubbery they're not cooked right. What if I don't like them rubbery?

I undercook almost everything I make, I HATE burnt or even well done food, and I find that meat for example, stays juicier too, which I LOVE... I don't undercook it enough that it could kill you or something, I just don't cook it as much as the rest of my family or anyone I know does...

Oh no, I don't do them until they're pink in the middle, sort of between that and the "normal" type, which... I don't even know what that is, just how my family makes it I suppose, I just like it to keep some of the juices inside, but not be pink

Horse meat. The best meat on the planet, hands down.

o_O medium-well? grodes, that's too cooked :/ (except in chicken - always cook chicken throughout)

I prefer medium-rare. Or rare, if I'm at a fancy place and I know they will be using a very choice cut of steak or fish.
Medium for any lower-grade meat, like in burgers, or for pork.
Do they not use any meat done-ness system like this in the UK?? (if not, how do you order cuts of steak or fish there? Just hope that they do it right? :/)

An old professor of mine had it and said it was even more gross than dog meat

of course he was served both while in an African village, so idk, might have been how they prepared it or something

Overcooked meat tastes like cardboard ... I'll never understand it when people prefer it that way. One person told me it was b/c they were grossed out by blood, but then ... What did they think they were eating? It was once alive. You're still eating blood, it's just cooked into being hard to see ... At the expense of making the meat tougher and drier and more packed with carcinogens.
Ah well, people're allowed to have silly prefs, I know I certainly do :)

Psst... there's something called medium and medium well (As shown on that picture lol), I never said overcooked, lol, hence the name: medium :shades:

Overcooked stuff tastes bad too, especially on barbeques, we had one yesterday and my mam cooked the sausages until the outsides were black and crispy, and the inside of them was just URGH! but she LOVES burnt and overcooked meats... weirdo.

Overcooked meat tates bad, but what's really important is that it accelerates rate of cancer ; Yeah, It's very bad for your health.
I like my meat well done or medium done if i have steak,
But here in korea we cut meat into small pieces and cook it,
So most of the time it just only "cooked" and "uncooked".
and most of the time we eat pork.

Especially we eat the pork called Samgyeopsal,
Which means "Three Layered Meat".
(layer consists of two white part and red part,
Red part is meat and white part is fat(and some collagen maybe))

Fun fact : Koreans doesn't really eat dogs that much.
They rather eat pork.

Eww... meat with a 2:1 ratio of fat, in favour of fat? that's just disgusting, I HATE fat on meat, I always trim it off, even on bacon, I can't stand it whatsoever D:

2 Layer of fat does not mean 2:1 fat:meat ratio.
It's just two layers, and there's usually more/same meat than fat.
And when meat is cooked fat will melt and drained to oil pan.
I'll show you more when i get to pc.

jB, samgyeopsal is bacon. It's not SPECIFICALLY bacon, it's SLIGHTLY different, and it's cut from a slightly different area, and it's not salted or cured, but just think of it as bacon. It visibly looks almost identical. And it's super ridiculously good.

edit: here's a pic of it, uncooked:

In a lot of "authentic" S.Korean restaurants, they serve you plates of fresh meat or veggies or noodles etc, and there's either a hotplate or a roasting "pit" in the center of a square or round table, and everyone gathers around it and the food is cooked on it so you get to eat it as fresh as humanly possible. Like fondue, except without the fondue pot (or cheese, etc).
It's seriously just THE BEST, if you've never had it. SO GOOD.
