The First RPG You Played

The Legend of Dragoon, played it at a friend’s house a few times then bought it and beat it. After playing it I began playing other games such as FF8, 9, 10, Dragon Quest, Dark Stone, and a few others. I personally liked the story line and even though it was repetitive the battle system was okay. Cut scene graphics where well done game play graphics where okay as well (for the games time). The one thing I hate about it...not much except every Final Fantasy Fan claiming it was a FF7 rip off...please get a life you hard core FF fans!!!

Difficult question... The first time I played an RPG is so way back, I can't exactly remember. However, I do remember the first RPG's that I played.

Shining Force 2 (it uses a strategy battle system), Phantasy Star 2 and 4 (your regular RPG with turn-based battle system. What I liked about it was that you were seeing your battlers (not in a way à la RMXP, you saw the back) and you could see them attack. I guess that was pretty revolutionary.).

Which one came first, though, I can't remember... No matter how hard I try.

Hm, if you count adventure-rpgs, my first one would have to be Star Tropics on the NES... I think I was around 10 at the time. But as for a straight-up turn-based rpg, that would have to be Chrono Trigger when I was 14 or 15.

 My first was Wild Arms 2... but my FIRST... you know, you're first REAL rpg... was Final Fantasy VIII... and still, my favorite... just can't beat it... XD

Can't remember it was some Commodore 64 game,
my aunt had one of those in her summer house and it was my favorite thing to do,
now the only game I can remember from that era is ghostbusters - I was around 3 at the time...

The first RPG I actually understood was Diablo, I played it with my older cousin - at age 5/6 ish
Man, those were the days...
