My favorite game is Tales of Symphonia by far. The battle system is just awesome and it makes every battle different. Tales of Phantasia which I haven't beaten yet, is so repetive, the random battles are so frequent and the character AI is way off. They either go use all their spells and skills or use none. There's no in-between. I'm not to far into it but the plot just isn't going together well so far either.

I'm guessing you've played the GBA version. People, get a SNES emulator and play the original. Please. For the love of god.

i got Tales of Eternia for my PSP today. Man that game costs alot. it was 64.99+ tax Canadian. But so far its a pretty good game

I'm guessing you played the crappy GBA version Tel? They're releasing it on PSP with better graphics, and most of the dialog intact (The GBA one was heavily censored)

You have to play the Original Phantasia, the game is pwnsome. Oh, and do you know where to get Tales of Destiny? I've been looking everywhere :-/

Baten Kaitos, I LOVE that game but I'm real far but I never get around to beating it. My mouse really wanted to click that ^^ but I forced myself not to. Someday... someday... Everyone's always talking about how bad the voice acting is, I never notice it. In the beginning I remember thinking, okay, this girl sounds really weird, but now I sorta like her voice and it seems to fit the character. I dunno...

You should just play on...
I love the story. :P

So far I've only managed to play Tales of Phantasia. Meh, it's not very good. The plot is awfully cliche and the AI sucks bad. The music was quite enjoyable., though.

I'd like to try out Symphonia, but I don't have a GameCube. I should buy it, might be cheap these days. :D

If those games would just come to America... I would cry with joy ;_; and probably pee my pants...

People say that we have little chance of such happening. But I think we're doing pretty good with the tales series...
ToP, ToD, ToE, ToS, ToL, and TotA. All we're missing is ToD2, ToR, and the TotW spin off series. TotW i can understand, taht has the lowest chance of coming out, makes sense right? It features alot of characters we don't know XD. But ToD remake, ToP FVE and ToD2 have a pretty good chance. Plus, two of them are on the PSP and we all know the PSP needs more games X3 (especially killer ones like the Tales of series! Which reminds me, I need to go import the European version of ToE for the PSP!)

ToD:R for the PS2 probably won't be released here due to SCEA's policies, and Namco's unwillingness to stop using sprites in modern games. Donm't get me wrong, I love sprites, but SCEA is basically "Sprites=t3h gh3y"

Well someone needs to tell SCEA to stop being retarded and realize; hey, a lot of RGP players actually enjoy sprites in the game. Its funny how they dont mind releasing it in Japan but not America. Come on! Do they have any idea how many Tales fans are out there?! And how much their fan base is growing?! I have seen the battle system for this game, and that is far more important than the graphic style they use (even if its sprite based). Who needs full fledged 3-D when you got a kick ass game? I mean, the battle system not only looks fun as hell, but its fast passing and awesome combos (even up in mid air!!) and the fact the battles actually look exciting and full of lots of fun!!!

But, obviously we have retarted people that are supposed to speak for us and decide what comes to America -.- I want to kill them all...

Also, I would like to know: Can you only have 6 characters in your reel (as in, 4 that you play with, and 2 on reserve) like in the original (which i hated, cuz i had to go all around the world and get the people I wanted...)? Or can I have as many characters in reserve as i want (up to how many playable characters there are, that is)? XD

All the characters you could obtain normally in the original, your forced to get. Which means you can't ditch Chelsea, Karyl, or Bruiser. Also, Lilith, Stahn's little sister is an official character you can unlock in the arena. So she's not a glitch anymore.


Also, a note if you get the game, if your used to Auto-lvling, you'll hate this game. If you run around in a circle for a certain amount of time, Barbatos, the villan from Tales of Destiny 2 will appear and own you :no:

Hmm... so does that mean you can have all of them (but only four in a battle at a time, the rest in reserve) at once? Say... Stahn, Rutee, Mary, Philia, Garr, Presea, Karyl, Bruiser and now Lilith (sorry, i got a bit confused with how you answered XD)? I think i'm forgetting someone...
And I find it interesting how Lilith was a glitch in the first place XD;;

My fav characters to use were always Stahn, Rutee, Garr and either Chelsea, Mary or Philia (depending on what i needed. Like i did with ToS).

Auto-leveling? I've actually never tried that XD;;; I've always just power leveled on my own. Because it was so much more fun to do the battles. I WANTED to train because the battles were so fun and didnt wanna stop fighting XD;;; but I have yet to play ToD2, so I dont know who Barbatos is... but that sounds scary XD. Haha, its funny how they find ways to crack down on people who find tricks to easy leveling >.> but sounds like a fun person to run into, I gotta try and do that if i ever get it X3 (even if i get my butt handed to me XD)

1st one is Barbatos in the ToD remake owning the player's party with regular attacks.

2nd one is his Blast Calibur which owns everyone.


The reason he's there is to prevent auto-levelers AND power-levelers. HE comes up if you fight in an area for too long.

Awww... but I love power leveling!! How mean, hehe. I guess they dont want the game TOO easy then XP. But the battle system is just so addicting I cant help but keep fighting in the tales games >< i look forward to each battle!! Oh well...

But that is some serious pwnage!! I mean, they were barely doing any damage XD i wonder how high of a level you have to be to be able to beat him... if its even possible o.o;;;

And I seriously hope ToD2 comes to the PSP in America... that battle system also looks so beautiful and addicting ;_;

Honestly, the battle system is all ToD2 has going for it. The story was horribly plain, the characters boring, and graphics at times, either extremely dull, or way too flashy. I still want it to come for asthetic reasons, but I'd look more forward to Tales of Rebirth...IF they ever bring it.

Good for ToD Japanese or ToD American fans? XD (since... I dont know if you are refering to this taking place in Japan or America... (Or even Europe, which is fine, cuz as long as its in english, i can still play it X3) since I believe ToD2 for the PSP hasnt come out on it yet... could be wrong).
