Sin and Punishment - Tons of new screens! :o

Update: I replaced a few screens and added new artwork.

As for the demo, I obviously missed my end of april mark.  I've since moved into a new place, which happened at the very end of april, and started a new job.  Now that I'm settled in, I've been working on the project steadily again.  Expect a few more updates, and hopefully a demo in a couple of weeks!
 
I'm really keen on the battle system you've got there. I'm really looking forward to the demo. Honestly though, I glossed over everything else. I prefer to be surprised by the story bits when I play. Also, any way I could get the scripts for your battle system?

It's nice to see additional information, however. I don't know why you decided to withhold that.
 
Added a new character profile and location profile.  Both character art and sprites are beginning to pour in faster, now.  All I need is another scripter to finish up the last of my major script needs - if any of you are interested, don't hesitate to get in touch with me.  :3

4chan generally isn't a good place to dump massive amounts of plot info.  I generally only post about my game when I need bugtesters or somebody else posts a screen/art for some reason.
 
Another update - I just finished doing all the maps for the upcoming demo, whooo!  To celebrate, I've picked out what I feel are a selection of my more impressive maps, and posted them in a new 'Map' section in the OP.  Be sure to check them out.

The last two major things that need to come together before I release a demo are sprites (which are coming along very nicely :3) and scripts (Not so nicely D:).  If things all work out, I'm hoping to have the demo ready for bugtesting in 2-3 weeks.  Cross your fingers, everybody!
 
:ssj: I'm going into super work mode. Hopefully I can get this stuff done in that amount of time, school will be out very soon. ^_^

Something about the railing there rubs me the wrong way.  I'm not sure; maybe have the railing connect to the wall?  I'm not sure, but I'm not crazy about it.

The waterfalls looks bad; there are waterfall character sets for the top and bottom of waterfalls in VX.  Try using those; they should look better.

The fact that you can barely see the tree trunks on the top trees looks bad.  You should be able to see more than that.  Other than that, not bad.
 
I just love your characters! ^^ Ur battle system is kinda like that freaking annoying game called: "Enchanted Arms" or something... That last boss... @.@ Dident beat it though so I kinda selled the game... ^^;

I haven't read much of this post. And alls i want to say is, as far as anyone I've ever talked to concerning this, Enchanted Arms is absolute garbage. I don't recommend even looking at that screen shot. I kept playing into it hoping, nay praying, that it would get more tolerable or there would be a saving grace. There was not.

That's certainly on-topic. Yessiree, sure is. Don't do it again. :|

I think I already told you (Dissonance) in IRC that I didn't like ripped sprites ("ewwww") but then again it does give Sin and Punishment more originality compared to those thousands of RTP projects out there.

Love the concept art, although... colour would be even more brilliant.

The 'Character Jumping' idea is marvelous and very unique to an RPG (From what I've played).

Hey dude, i got a quick question. You said you have implemented HQ2X Filtering into RPG maker Xp, can you let me know how youve done that? I been looking everywhere for that, maybe just post the script up or something, please? thanks

Update - The game is going along smoothly. All major scripting jobs are finally finished!!!  I still have a few loose ends to tie up but I will probably be able to do them myself, but if you want to give me a hand by all means.  :P  I'm currently bugtesting and brushing up the dialogue - the only thing I'm waiting on now are sprites.

Speaking of those sprites, I added a few poses of Demian's sprite.  It's made to resemble the RM2K3 RTP (though the template used is noticeably taller, making it similar to CT as well) as I liked the style of that RTP.  Like the tileset graphics, the sprites will be filtered.  Again, you can turn the filters off if you're a pixelfag.
 
Added an update concerning enemy encounters.  Random battles blow :3

I've been bugtesting and refining a bunch of small things while waiting for my spriter to give me sprites to sub into the game.  While I said before that all major scripting jobs are done before (and they are,) I've found a pretty crippling glitch in the battle system that I'm hoping to get fixed up while sprites come in.

I have a few more minor scripting jobs that I could probably handle myself, but if any of you scripters want to shave a week or two off my demo development time, be sure to let me know!
