Even if that did matter (it's a pretty common topic and I doubt either of you are stealing from each other), Dissonance has been working on this game for years.

i remeber of this beach in a Legend of zelda or a Goofy game gor super nintendo i think...

I think I remember that; I loved the Capcom Disney games (although I didn't really get into the Goof Troop one because I only played it briefly on emulator in college).  Ducktales and Darkwing Duck were both really good :)

I also like your CT and SoM maps.  Now I want to go dig up the old snes...

you might want to consider changing the name of your project because there is an N64 game called that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sin_and_punishment

I was going to mention this in the project topic but didn't quite find it to be an appropriate place to do so, so:

I thought of the name 'Sin and Punishment' a year before the Japanese release of the n64 title, and 4 years before I even learned of the n64 title's existence.  Unless I can think of a better name, or treasure sues the shit out of me, the title will most likely be staying.

(ps I downloaded the n64 game on virtual console earlier and it is kick ass, I highly recommend you pick it up)

Oh well, but I didn't even look at this topic before getting the idea. See that, my project started on around March 10th, and this, in april fools...
Ah, Dissonance is trying to joke with me =[

What? Nobody is saying you took any idea, and nobody is saying Dissonance took any ideas. In fact, nobody cares. I doubt there will be any similarities between the games, anyway.

Please stop talking about your project here, this topic is for Sin and Punishment.

Ah 'kay, sorry. I missed your 'doubt' in the other post. And, I was joking about the joke.

Anyways, good luck on your first demo, Diss.

Like I said on IRC, I hate the filters, and love the non-filtered version. But the battle system looks cool and as long as it's not starring that 15 year old boy, I'm all for it :3.

I love how absolutely everybody with graphical sense is anti-filter.

Psst, you've made it clear several times to me and other people already that you don't like filters, and in response to the feedback I've gotten from multiple other people I've added the option to turn them off.  There's no need to continuously mention the matter especially since it's been resolved.

Stop fagging up my thread.

Yeah, the filters are awful (you might be able to get away with it if the characters didn't look like badly-resized RM2K sprites) but this game looks pretty solid. It's nice when people put a little thought into their game-world rather than just throwing a king over here and some orcs over there.

Good luck!

Note that the three characters don't imply "top guy is the lead, two others are just people introduced to the top guy".  The three characters each have their own plot, and they never actually meet up in the coming demo.  You get to choose which one you're interested in.

Please read the thread, I've clearly stated that the RM2K sprite is a placeholder multiple times.  It won't be in the demo.

I'm not a fan of games that use ripped graphics sorry.

Yeah, I can see how some people would think that way, and I don't blame you.  But considering I have no graphical talent, and I'm not about to pay people for sprites as I'm a penniless student, I really only have two options - Use the RTP that every single RMXP release that I've seen so far uses, or use SNES rips in attempt to be ever so slightly more original.

Man, I remember playing this game years ago. The game looks heavily improved I must say, and I'm digging the filter. It gives the game a water color-ish look, and it also helps sprites from various games flow and mesh together. I'm curious, however, about the battle system. While the characters move on squares, how do they attack the enemies and vice-versa? Each side appears to be on a different set of squares. Explain it?

Oh, yes, another comment on the filters! Sort of. I like how you took the criticisms about the filters, and took the initiative to do something about it. Rarely do I see people actually take the time to work on something that has been criticized so heavily. Also, the fact that you didn't just up, and lose the filters all together shows some consistency, and I like that. Extra points for you. :3

On the subject of the game's world, and lore; I do loves me some fleshed out game lore. You've even gone so far as to come up with a unique calender for the world, which is great, especially seeing as how most games are content to either use our own world's calender, or no even mention things such as months, weeks, and such.

I was actually quite surprised at the quality of the character art. I didn't really peg you as the artistic type(what with the thinking that those filters look good, and all ), so it was a pleasant surprise. Even though they're just rough sketches, the quality is really quite good. Although Richard is looks about as close to an anime bishounen as possible. :\

I really think this will turn out quite nice, Diss. Keep up the good work!  :thumb:

...Oh, and... you're a bitch, or something. :3

Updated the main post with another location profile.

I've hit a few snags concerning the project, but I'm still aiming for an end-of-april release.  Let's all hope I make it!  :3
