also a media correspondent on npr mentioned the series 'Lone Star' starting Sept. 20th on FOX. a drama about a guy in the middle of greedy/corrupt oil tycooning juggling two wives.

it's not going to have nudity etc. like premium channels' shows but if you don't get premium channels then this might be one to check out

I recently got to see the 2 seasons of The Mentalist and it totally got me. It's not exactly new although the 3rd season is going to be aired soon (or so I think) but I really loved the story and the characters. I am not exactly the type of a person who likes seeing dead bodies and blood but the way this show gets it makes it real yet in the same time not so terrifying. I will really recommend it if you are looking for some nice murder and investigation stuff with interesting twists and characters.

god damn a lot of the npr correspondents have just GOD AWFUL radio voices though. like they speak as if there's no punctuation--or too much. and the main oldguy always sounds like his mouth is full of hard candy. why would you even get into radio in the 1st place if you sound like that

oh, on topic, idt anyone's mentioned this but: web soup & tosh.0. they're not "series" in the strictest sense of the word but they're good for low-brow funny in that they basically just distill a bunch of silly youtube shit
