Show Recommendation Thread

Kinda like Moe's recommend me a game thread, but for...you know..shows.

I'm looking for a show to start watching, preferably comedy or drama. The major shows I've been watching are Lie to Mie, Weeds, It's always sunny, and Fringe, if that helps at all.

Showtime is really great for dramedy. I'm not sure if it's been canceled already but I would always try to catch The United States of Tara when it used to come on, and it was decent!

also it's a few years old and ended but The Riches was a really fantastic blend of comedy/drama about a modern day gypsy family. (I've only seen the first season, and it's still one of my favorites)

Breaking bad, Entourage, Venture Bros, Weeds, and Modern Family are all pretty good imo. Entourage is getting the axe soon, so id check it out, and VB new season is starting up next sunday.

Breaking bad is amazing. If you love great writing and a bad ass plot, youll love this show.

yep, that's the one

there's the teenage girl + middle-aged redneck dude + 1950's-esque perfect domestic goddess

it really wasn't that bad, the personalities were ridiculously caricature-like which contrasted weirdly with the down-to-earthness of the rest of the show but it was still worlds above a lot of TV shows

i havent watched show time since dead like me got axed, so i might have to watch it some more. hbo's shows are mostly shit (true blood, hung)

I fucking love scrubs, the newer season i havent seen but its still fantastic.

my favorite show for years! sometimes the goofy slapstick was a bit much when they tried to shoehorn it in to inappropriate moments, but I really liked the way they integrated goofy comedy + drama so well. the real lure was the characters, though. the main cast was amazing. oddly enough J.D. was probably my least favorite, but they were all so likable! even Kelso.

I've seen seasons 1-8, not sure if I want to watch the 9th, I mean, sure all the ol' cast members make appearences (Although Turk is still there, but he's not as good without JD), but it'll just be weird.

Also, Janitor = One of the best characters of any TV show ever.

it's still pretty funny, but it's just not the same without the old cast - they were really the life of the show

Dr. Cox and Turk are still great though.

If you haven't already (dunno why you wouldn't have done) then Friends 1-10 and the complete Will and Grace. Unless you're after new shows.

Friends was alright when i was a kid...but..Will and Grace? C'mon...

If you have that kind of mentality about it then of course you wouldnt like it. Will and Grace was actually really good imo/
