Yes, but you, free players, are not the customers. The customer is the one that is paying £3.20 a month, who they are at least trying to please. They are also trying to make you want their product - if you could get everything for free, why would you pay £3.20 a month?

Note I said consumer, not costumer. Two different things, here.

In any case, they recieve their profits through an indirect means which is directly supported by their user base, so they should still aim to please their consumer.

They get income from both. They should still aim to keep their subscribers as all. The only reason they have any at all is because of the game's popularity, not in any way due to its quality.

Take a look at Rapplez THATS graphics (atleast for a free game) ..

The only thing Runescpa ecan do is totaly remake runescape ..

You go up to an NPC, you try to talk to him and he goes "FUCK YOU, I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT A MEMBER"

Try to open a door, and you get a message saying "LOL, THIS DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED BY MEMBERS"

Try to use an item and guess what? "HAY DIPSHIT ONLY MEMBERS CAN USE THIS ITEM"

And last time I checked, only members can post on the Fagex forum.

Oh wow, for only 5 smackers a month I can access three times the amount of utter shit AND talk to endless swarms of 13-year-old boys, now that's good value! Not.

The main reason RS is still played now is because of:

1. Easy UI.
Face it. This game was so easy it can make a four year old look smart in front of their parents as they play it. Mining is easy, Herbalism is easy, hell, the hardest skill in the game, one which actually requires coherent thought, Thieving, is easy. I've been a member in 2006 before hackers took my account, when I was only 10. I got to level one-hundred without much effort.

2. System Specs.
Easy enough, RS can run on nearly any computer.

As said before, its an introductory to MMOs, like how Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was an introduction to harder RPGs. They are good for one or two years of time.

(Jagex have a habit of changing things in the "Knowledgebase" before they get released in-game, to raise hype and such. Like when Summoning was released, and pet dogs.)

It still looks shit. Probably worse now as they're no longer 'that low-fi MMORPG' and stuck between the light clients and proper ones.

I will be highly surprised if they aren't found to have stolen some of these new textures though.

They still have the crappy graphics for low detail they're just improving the high detail and a bit of the low detail.

Also they're gonna offer different client/browser game sizes so you can play it in full screen.
I don't think these guys will have proper graphics tell 2038.

/\ No, they're bringing out a whole new detail range. There'll be Low Detail, and High Detail, as before. Then there'll be the new detail range, which will be much better than the previous two. So for those who only played because of the old-computer-compatability, it'll still be there. They're adding without taking away.

I think the point of this statement was that a graphical update won't fix the dull gameplay and broken economic system. You can wax and repaint a car all you like, but that won't fix the engine.
