RPG that you could replay over and over again?

Personally, I think Radical Dreamers was much better than Chrono Cross.  I don't really know why, but it just seams the better to me.

Wrong, it was in like 2004. Most of the shit in it is bits of CC though so I dont see how its better?? Plus the text battles were kind of stupid and timed out if you didnt choose in time.

It really wasnt much of a full fledged game, but oh well. This thread is giving me a headache.

CC was a remake of RD, and like I said, I can't really explain why I thought it was better.  It just was to me.  Maybe I have weird taste.

Haha, it would seem so :x

To get off the CC topic, another RPG I could play over and over again was Illusion of Gaia. Man, that game was great :D

Okami keeps being in my mind, but Waka the most (waka = character of Okami)
That music is epic, the battles are action-filled, the collector grade is 10/10, the storyline is original like Chunky Muffin, the Graphics are on the art I like it...
This game is a game I can play over and over.

Oh yeah, Pokémon is one of my favourites too. Pokémon D/P is the best, but the Colloseum series are also good (but no RPG)

Radical Dreamers was a side-story to Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross was pretty much a fanfic of Radical Dreamers.  I hated how Chrono Trigger DS' new final boss and ending was basically Square tying together the two games to make them canon and basically saying "Radical Dreamers never existed."

Chrono Cross was a mess of a game that had nothing in common with Chrono Trigger except a couple of character names and GASP that gay guy with the cape and mask, could it be Magus???

also, elfin rock opera.  i seriously fell asleep at this part.  who thought naked elves singing and dancing would make for an enjoyable experience???

Actually N, I believe SD3 has 3 separate stories. One for Kevin/Pedobait, one for Hawk/Riesz and one for Bimbo/Boring dude.
I think you're right about that, I haven't played it in quite a while. And yeah I'M HARDCORE LUMI, WHAT YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT? NOTHING BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT HARDCORE ENOUGH!

As far as Chrono Cross goes, I loved the game, the Trigger references, the environments, and the music. I liked a couple of the characters enough to let them in my party but the were for the most part a waste of time, the battle system was mediocre but managed to be challenging occasionally, and overall it didn't hold a candle to Trigger in terms of plot or depth but I could say the same thing about almost every RPG. It was certainly better than many crappy RPGs I've played and more memorable, so I can't be too hard on it.

Gaia was a ton of fun and never gets enough credit, though I have to say playing the other Quintet games afterward was a bit of a disappointment - I somehow expected more. I thought it broke down in the end with the final character/form but all the crazy amazing landmark environments and the character swapping mechanic really lent a lot to making what could have been a lame action RPG (like Quintet's other games) a real classic.

Has anyone mentioned Breath of Fire yet? BoF 1 was the game that really hooked me into RPGs, like permanently sunk the RPG claw into my adolescent mind. before BoF I was mildly interested in them as I was in any game, and of course I'd played Zelda and DW and FF1 on the NES but never really appreciated the genre until BoF.

BoF3 was very fun for me, I'd replay it. But when I played it, it was actually borrowed off a friend, so I didn't have the chance ;(

The only thing that pissed me off in the game was the onion guy, can't remember his name, but you get him at level 1 when you're like halfway through the plot. And I simply can't be bothered to level his ass up
The gfx in that and BoF4 were EXTREMELY charming and lovely, though. Some of the most endearing environs I've seen in a game, period.

I tried 1 and 2, but I didn't like it too much.  It;'s been a long time since I last played, so maybe my taste has changed.

1 and 2 were pretty run-of-the-mill IMHO. My husband'd slap the freckles off me for saying that because he LOVES them, but to me the series is totally forgettable outside of 3 and 4.

I played BoF2 when i was too young to even understand what RPGs were.

I thought the green life bar graphics in BOF2 were canisters of POWER JUICE or something that ryu loaded into the hilt of his sword and bo loaded into the shaft of his arrows and i couldn't understand why they kept going up and down at seemingly random intervals :x
