I guess it could also have been "turn based system" but I guess that's what the default is. 

The only thing I don't like about tactical battle systems are the lengths of the battles. Half the time is spent walking to the enemy.
Does that mean you'll have some sorta over world map with areas for battle encounters?

Almost. Im not a big fan of world maps and stuff, so battles will encounter on a certian spot on the map. And most battles will start after an event.
 
Okay, I haven't updated in a very long time. The main reason is that the game is basicly standing still. The main reason that it's standing still is that Im waiting for the scripts systems to be updated, but the guy who's helping me with that haven't been on for awhile, and I haven't got any updates from him =(

Also, I've scrapped the TBS version of this game, and Im going to stick with the old one. But for this, Im going to need some battler graphics for the characters. If anyone is interested to help me with that, Im willing to make 5 maps for your game, since Im broke.

Just let me now if anyone is interested, so I can make this game going again.
 
A small update: I've done some progress :D

Im currently working on the version without the Ongrian system, so I have something to show up. I've also changed to a new menu system. Here's a screenshot of it:

Catty

Age: 20

An old friend of Marche, but are now enemies. Catty used to search for treasures and plunder with Marche. It is said that she was in love with Marche, but after a betrayal of Marche, they enemies. She is a thief just like Marche, but she's using knives as weapons, and her speed in battle is breathtaking.

Age: 22

Patty is a warrior, who lives in the town of Mist. One day, while takning a walk she saved Marica from a wild beast, and after that, she's been protecting her from danger. She uses the spear, and it is said that she once beat 20 bandits, without any help.


Im going to work more on their background later on.

Updates:

The game is rolling nicely now. Im glad to inform that Im planning to release a demo on Friday, for those who wants to play it :D

Some updates to the game:

New Ongrian System: The old, not working Ongrian System has been replaced by a new one. Credits goes to Jens009, for making this wonderfull system. Credits goes to you my friend :biggrin:

Also, the title has gained a new song, composed by Paradelous. Credit goes to you aswell :grin:

So keep you eyes open for the demo people^^

I will be playing it and tell you what I think when you get it out. Your new screens look nice and I like your sprites

Well, If eveything goes as planned, I will release it on Friday. I just have some maps and stuff left, and then it's finished.

Also, since more people has reacted on Maricas name(Which means something nasty on spanish), her name will be changed to Marcia.
 
A small update here. The demo was supposed to be released 1 week ago, but Im currently having it beta-testing. After it was tested, it showed that it was to many errors in it to be released yet. When all these errors are removed, the demo will be released, but I can't put out a date for the release yet.

Sorry for the problems.
 
Hey shadow, can I ask you what color effects you're using on your tilesets/characters? Is it just a reduction in saturation? Ive been trying to figure out just how much saturation to get rid of, but it looks like you've nailed it.
 
Wow, I haven't updated here in awhile :/

I can say that's the project is slowly moving forward. Editing some stuff in the beginning of the game, got in contact with an artist and I've also improved the title screen(Script by Moghunter and edited by Theory)

The only thing I've changed is the graphics for New Game, Load Game and Leave. But I think it looks 100% better then before.
 
Another Update:
Im planning to use an encounter system I used for one of my older,dead projects called Rose Memories.

The winds that blows through the world contains spirits, called Wind Spirits. When The Wendian Arcs was taken away from Wendia, these spirits becomes confused.. Without having the arcs that keeps the wind alive, the spirits runs amok. These out-of-control spirits is spread around the world, in form of spirits. These spirites contains evil creatures, called monsters.

Typical spirit encounter:

When you get contact of these kind of spirits, you will be throwed into combat.

There are 6 kinds of spirits:

White
SpiritFriendly.png

Purple
BlueSphere.png

Yellow
YellowSphere.png

Green
GreenSphere.png

Red
RedSphere.png

Black
BlackSphere.png


All these spirits has different combat levels:

Purple Spirit = Easy Combat.
Yellow Spirit = Medium
Green Spirit = Hard
Red Spirit = Challenge
Black Spirit = Deadly

And the white one is special. If you encounter one, it's a possibility that they will give you something special. The white ones is friendly, but shy. It's a bit hard to find these spirits.

Opiniuns. Should I use this system that I used for my dead project or should I stick with the simple,normal encounter system?
 
It would be interesting to have both: use the more typical encounter system with these spirits hidden in nooks and crannies of dungeons. To balance it out in such a way, the spirits would reap rewards according to their rarity. Just an idea.
 
Sounds like a good idea, but I don't want to mix 2 types of encounter systems. It's either that one or the other one, so Im going to use the spirit system one.
 
From what i have read and Seen.

This is Amasing Work, Your screenshots show that you have obviously Put alot of hard work into this game, unlike some people who try to rush their games.

Your mapping Skills look Pretty good.
All i can say now is Keep up the good work and Keep me informed..also Let us all know when you have a demo out.

I'ts not an encounter script. It's an event based encounter system ;)

What I saw at the spirit sprites is that the white spirit should've had black background, and the black spirit should've had white (or blueish) background. It might yust work in game, but I find it odd looking.

A small, but not such a big update. The reason Im posting this is that Im looking for an event designer.

I know eventing, but not as good as other people. So making puzzles for the game is really hard, and it will take alot longer to finish the demo that way.

So, what will you do as a event designer? Well, basicly making puzzles for the game. That's pretty much it. If you want payment for it, I can only pay in maps, since I mostly don't want to use any money for this project(However, my artist gets paied in money, but that's because her work is so awesome)

So if you are interested in helping out with the eventing for the game, just PM me or post here.

Since my computer kind of acted up when I send you a pm I am not sure if it got to you....
So I'll say it again. I'd be mor than happy to help you out, since I really would love to see this game get a demo out. And since I know a thing or two about events I'd be willing to see if I can think of stuff for the events you have in mind.
