By applying christian beliefs and teachings to your lifestyle, you are more religious than people who go to church to save face. You can insist and insist that you're a special little snowflake and that you're not religious, but you always prove that you are (and more so than most people) right afterward.

You even say G-D.

I believe that 2000 years ago, Christ came to Earth to atone for mankind. He set the perfect example by both treating others fairly, forgiving, and receiving ordinances of salvation (namely baptism and confirmation)

He established a church, of which he was said to be the cornerstone with his 12 apostles being the rest of the foundation. He gave them the priesthood, the power and authority to act in God's name, and sent them to preach the gospel--which was faith, repentance, baptism, confirmation, and enduring to the end.

And I believe that the same church exists today with apostles and prophets and priesthood ordinances.

I used to think that I could not go on, and life was nothing but an awful song, but now I know the meaning of true love. I'm leaning on the everlasting arms.

If I can see it, then I can do it. If I just believe it, there's nothing to it.

I believe I can fly; I believe I can touch the sky. I think about it every night and day -- Spread my wings and fly away. I believe I can soar; I see me running through that open door.
I believe I can fly;
I believe I can fly;
I believe I can fly.

See, I was on the verge of breaking down. Sometimes silence can seem so loud. There are miracles in life I must achieve, but first I know it starts inside of me.

If I can see it, then I can do it. If I just believe it, there's nothing to it.

I believe I can fly; I believe I can touch the sky. I think about it every night and day -- Spread my wings and fly away. I believe I can soar; I see me running through that open door.
I believe I can fly;
I believe I can fly;
I believe I can fly.

Hey, if I just spread my wings,
I can fly;
I can fly;
I can fly, hey, If I just spread my wings I can fly.
Fly-eye-eye.

Just out of curiousity, what is your conception of the place from whence he came?

The presence of God the Father, which I believe to be the same place we all came from.

the giant oven of mankind?

i just don't believe per say, my life its just karma ( believe me, it happens)and seeing the world as a... giant piece of earth in which there's the so called life
I've been raised as a christian but i didn't take the first holy communion because i just... didn't feel that way.

i didnt read all the posts, just answering to the main question, and if you ask me about a good belief:

That didn't exactly answer my question.

*Where*? How do you concieve this relationship in a metaphysically-spatial kind of way? Do you see it as something like the Lifestream, for example? Or Yuggoth? Is it up or down? Is God like the Force?

God created man in his image. Jesus was said to be a mirror image of the Father. So I believe God to be a tangible being, made of flesh and bone--just perfected and glorified. Especially since Jesus was resurrected and left his Earth with a tangible body, shortly after touching various people, and eating/drinking as well.

Being a tangible person, He dwells in a tangible place. His influence and power can be felt in all the universe, but he exists in one place at a time (like the sun, for example)

Joe Ruby and Ken Spears created Captain Caveman in their image of the perfect man. Captain Caveman was said to be an amalgamation of their Fathers. So I believe Captain Caveman to be a tangible being, made of flesh and bone--just hairy and unwashed. Especially since Taffy was resurrected and left this Earth with a cry of "Zowie!", shortly after touching various people, and eating/drinking as well.

Being a tangible person, He dwells in a tangible place. His influence and power can be felt in all the universe, but he exists in one place at a time (like the sun, for example)

I can apply this paragraph to almost anything and have it make just as much sense.

Although I really shouldn't dignify this with a response--you are mixing up the key figures in your comparison.

You compared Joe Ruby and Ken Spears to God in your first paragraph, and Captain Caveman to man. (God created Man in his image) Then in the second paragraph, you refer to Captain Caveman as the "tangible person"... when it should be Joe Ruby and Ken Spears you are talking about, since our discussion was about God the Father.

I just wanted to point out that there are a few minor inconsistencies in your comparison.

Matthew 12
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

I'm probably not the best with words, so I will just quote someone who spoke with power and authority.

Taken from 1 Corinthians 2:

4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
• • •
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
• • •
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

While reviewing this topic, this scripture just kept running through my mind. I feel so helpless on internet forums trying to convey my testimony to others... especially when most of you have chosen not to believe. But I know that God lives. I don't just believe it, I know it. And I know that sounds like foolishness to most people, just like Paul said it would 2000 years ago.

Inconsistent and not the best choice of subject, granted, but intentional. Captain Caveman is by far the more interesting subject.

So, why shouldn't you dignify me with a response? I think you should. If you take your logic, removing the actual subject matter, we get:

A supposedly created B, but there is no definite proof for this fact
B is supposedly identical to A, but there is no definite proof for this fact
B has property x, but there is no definite proof for this fact
therefore, A has property x

I can apply such faulty generalization to anything I wish, and the outcome is just as viable as your statement.

The proof is based on whether or not the person in question has received a witness that God lives and that the scriptures are true.

Once that is done, the scriptures (along with personal revelation and other sources) confirm those statements.

God created Christ:
Acts 2:36
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Christ is identical to God:
2 Cor 2:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the flight of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

John 5:19
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Christ has a physical body
Luke 24:39
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

God has physical body
Acts 7:55-56
But he [Stephen], being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

How is any of that proof? All these things are written in a book, so does this validate everything that that book, and thus all books in the history of ever, says?

I have a book upstairs that says Castleford is a good place to go for a pint, but it's still not true.
