It's not a huge issue since the game forces you to save just before it, but you can make it impossible to continue in the golem fight if the golems die in front of the shooty thing you're meant to use to open the door. You can't get to it to put the magnifying shards in.

Replaying chapter 1. The addition of gameplay solves a lot of the pacing issues, it doesn't seem so painfully slow anymore. Well done for that, I guess.
 
Ahh! I'm late!
Played trough it all once again and what can I say. The new chapter was great stuff as usual, story keeps going deeper and deeper. :) Lol at the psycho ending of chapter 9 by the way. :p
The chapter 1 revamp was also cool, although it did seem a bit strange in the beginning. Didn't really feel comfortable with a puzzle slapped at my face right in the start of the game. Even needed to check the forum for hints lol. You should also get someone to check your grammar (not that your english is bad at all, way better than mine :p) but there's a few mistakes here and there (one specific one I remember is about the hairpins, "Please help me return it to my brother" should be them I think). Also, the char is Reivier and you're Reives right? I'm quite sure I saw someone calling Reivier Reives somewhere. :p
Sorry if these have already been mentioned, too lazy to read all the new posts.
Nevertheless good job, keep going. Can't wait for the next chapter! :)

Thanks. :smile: Still taking a while for me to deal with it, but hoping to get it sorted out soon. And yeah, Zeka pretty much covered it (P.S. Kudos on quad-lingual Zeka) - The phonetics were actually just introduced in recent years though I think, which is part of why it's less known.

Ah, that really is a big problem, but in another way. You actually still can get to the orb by heading in from the side (which isn't obvious); but by having the golems dying in front of it, they block off the view to the indicator completely, which results in people not having a clue in what to do next. Thanks for your time, much appreciated.

Ty. Chapter 2 has 2 game-play components inserted too, including a clock tri-rotational puzzle that needs to be nerfed; if you feel like giving it a try sometimes. Still need to get more action in there though, as it's still quite blocky.

Yep,  grammar's still a big issue here. I'm getting in a large collection of reporting from some helpers on the home forum, and will eventually work through them all. c: Might take a while though.

And aye, as Jayden mentioned; Reives is more or less just a nickname.

[The production of Chapter X, "Sleeping Angel", is now technically under production. However, due to the workload I have in these recent days, not much will be done until some time later.]

Continuing from where Chapter IX left off, Chapter X will take place in the spring.
However, the two months time-skip that occurred at the end of Chapter IX will not be simply forgotten - Chapter X will extensively focus on flashbacks to what happened during the two months that Lunair was unconscious(?), through the perspectives of Reivier, Serai, Kardian and co.

In the near future, The Making of Chapter X thread will be created in the Technical Discussions board as always, to track the progress of Chapter X's making. In-progress screenshots will be posted, suggestions and feedback will be welcomed, and news will be kept up to date.

You just ruined any anticipation I had for the next chapter. (gameplay, where are you?)

Hey Reives, just tried to play chpt 1-9 (as per the link on the first post), got hit immediately with an error - Tileset Grassland not found.  Just a tip. :/
 
I only recently started playing this. But I got to say, this is quite possibly the best RPG Maker XP game I have ever played.

I can''t wait to see what comes next.  :thumb:

Oh, by mainly flashbacks, I didn't mean that it would all be cut-scene flashbacks. It could be simply jumping back and forth in a non-linear fashion. I'll certainly try to get some real game-play in there as well, thanks for the reminder! I might post some more details in the future about that.

That's strange, but I remember that happening very occasionally to some a while back as well. Is the downloaded file 101mb or so? Have ya tried reinstalling? Thanks for the heads up and thanks in advance if you can confirm those and tell me.

The screens look great, but If I may make a recommendation.

It seems like your village is on a pillar, not a mountain. While you may choose to keep it the way it is, I'd recommend adding some unaccesable areas below, like overhangs. The mountain or cliff should rise up kind of like in a pyramid like fashion (but of course, not necessarily a pyramid shape!)
 
My first post in the whole forums, I am follow after the chapters and they are simply amazing, I even can not think in the direction of to try create games like yours! With battle system and the transformation with Lonair. I am from Israel and at our country, we are not very invest in everything, but I try the best as i can.
sorry if there are some mistakes with my english.(if i was to immoderation about the game, im sorry, but the game is really good)
 
Hey Rieves, me yet again. I just wanted to check up on this, see if there was a new chapter out (I was dissappointed there wasn't; I need some way to burn time -other than writing a Zelda song on Guitar Hero: World Tour- until I get Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, which should be coming in 3-5 days)... But anyway, the screens look great. Just curious on the percentage of Chapter X you have done.

Ah, that's a good idea. I think I'll only be able to a couple though, all facing south; whenever I extend horizontally, there's the problem of the "vertical" tiles that has to go down forever on that map, and it gets messy.

Ey, sorry about the slow pace of development. I'm not going to give a % at the moment, but it's going at a slower pace than expected, unfortunately. However! I may have something nifty by Christmas (Quintessence-related), as well as something else that's non-Quintessence related out by then. If you want, you can find a really, really bad version of Quintessence from like 2 years ago (it was made within the first few months of getting RMXP) for kicks. I think it requires some post amount though; a blatant effort on my part. :p
