I'd also like to add that the second wave of games coming to the PS3 really look far better than the first generation, though compared to previous launches, the PS3's actually looks pretty strong, Call of Duty 3 (probably not exclusive) looks absolutely sensational running on the PS3 and will be out before Xmas. I remember how great I thought the first Timesplitters was, but play it next to future perfect (on the same system) and it makes it look absolutely shit.

Name 5 exclusives.
Just for the record, Heavenly Sword and Assassin's Creed are NOT exclusives.
That said, by all means name em off. I already know what the top two are.

As for PS3 exclusives (not 360 anyway), i may not be correct but here goes:

I'm pretty sure Heavenly Swrod is an exlusive now, Assassins Creed is unlikely to be.

I don't think that makes sense since the PS1 and 2 don't get much heat from anybody. You call the people who don't think they'll like the PS3 hardcore fans, but it seems like it's just as much the other way around. I mean, what kind of justification is "the company needs to make money" to buy a product? It's as if you can't have an opinion about upcoming video game consoles without being labeled as a fanboy.

Its an...OK list. But most of these, like Lair and Warhawk and FE will be solid rentals at best. Honestly(and this is coming from someone who currently only owns a ps2) there's nothing on that list that really appeals. 360 and Wii have some killer aps hitting there system, but PS3 just seems to have a bunch of decent look possibly above average games. Nothing really jutted out of their selections imo.

Those six games CAN sell a console, I think that's obvious.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a total fanboy, I own a a gamecube and was on the verge of buying a 360 but opted to hold out for the PS3. It's just Sony have always done things right from the start. It's very clearly the price that has everyone pissed - a) because Sony kept it too quiet and then decided to just slip it in and b) I think the 360 is infact a very cheap console, i'm not denying it's great value but it makes the PS3 look more costly than it is.

As for the Wii, I'm sorry to say as much as I love Nintendo's titles, i think this could be the final era in hardware for them... the mass market is either going to love it or hate it... it won't finish second. I'm guessing people will not be ready for it. They are likely to do a Sega and turn to software manufacture.
Only time can tell though...

A console really dosen't see anything good until its 2nd or 3rd year...then we see what developer's are able to do with pushing the limits.

What makes you think the games on the ps3 release list will even be released on the release date? Every console has its list of "launch games" but almost half those titles never see launch.

Regardless, I wouldn't mind the ps3 if it didn't remind me of SMSG 3DO. Any of you old enough to remember back to 1993 surely know of the $700 CONSOLE WITH $200 CHEAPLY PORTED ARCADE GAMES.

This whole "it's a console... but WITH UPGRADES" bullshit is complete nonsense. I don't buy a CONSOLE to upgrade it every year or so; that's what PC's are for. And still, you can't upgrade every single piece of the system. You have to worry about a motherboard, graphics card, ram, tower, cooling units; all sorts of parts that I don't want to deal with in a console.

Sony has an amazing system on its hands but so far the whole point of it (playing games) seems to be downplayed for the ps3's power to schedule your day and whipe your ass.

No. $600 is alot of money. A huge portion of gamers are young teenagers. To put it bluntly, most of us can't afford it at all. Period.

Nintendo makes way more money on their consoles than Sony and Microsoft even when they sell alot less. They would be the least likely to pull out after this generation.

I can't agree with this more.

I'm going to buy a Wii (probably after the big holiday release prices though), and not a PS3 (at least not until the price drops severely). The price is a huge issue, but there's an even bigger one.

If I by a game system, I want to buy it to play games. I have a computer for my...well, computer stuff. And I have a DVD player for that (and my computer can do that too if I ever need a backup). Packing all sorts of features like that onto a game system is essentially pointless...especially since it ups the price so much.

Nintendo knows what they're doing. After all, Nintendo MAKES GAMES. The most popular games for the Wii, I guarantee, are going to be first-party Nintendo games, not from third-party developers. Sony and Microsoft don't have that (at least not to my knowledge, which means if they do have it, it's nothing special). From the looks of it, Sony and Microsoft like to make big bad systems and let the developers make stuff for it.

Nintendo's not like that- Nintendo's making their system AND games hand-in-hand. Which is really why I'm going with them. They're not losing sight of what it's all about.

When you're asking 600 a pop and still in the red, you NEED a good lineup right out of the door. They wont be making any money from the console, they'll be making it from the games on the console(that's where the serious net gain is, since it costs maybe a few bucks to push a game copy through the assembly line) and they dont really have, in my opinion, the right stuff right out the door like they should. They have a bunch of halfhearted hardware thrown together to copy the competition, and some average starter games, and some "killer apps" but they're at least a year away from scheduled launch. That's bad business, Sony should know better.

Well, just as I have with the current generation, I'm gonna buy the Wii first (I'm not making THAt much at my new job), then the 360 , and then the PS3 when the price lowers. I mean, I like certain titles on all 3 of the systems (Super Smash Bros Brawl, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Halo 3, to name a few.), but it's not like it's the end of the world if I don't get the system/game the DAY it comes out. Most of my games and systems are Used, and the only new system I ever bought was my Gameboy Color.

What you gotta remember is that not everyone is a fanboy, rushing to the stores to the day it comes out. Now, I'm not saying people won't buy it, but if the 360 fiasco proves anything, a lotta teen's don't have to worry. Remember? Most of the line was filled with mom's who are buying Christmas gifts. I think it'll be the same for the Wii and the PS3.

Also, another reason why Wii fanboys hate the PS3 is because of the motion sensor in the control. They figure it's a direct rip off of the Wii, and you know what? They're right. But that's not a reason to be mad, it just means that you have two systems with more interactivity.

Lot of those games look good like, Untold Legends, the FF games GT5, MotorStorm. Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, Tekken 6, Ridge Racer 7 and Unreal Tournement 2007. Im still thinking about geting a PS3 on lanch date. And if i do im going to wal-mart! Serously when 360 came out you didnt have to wait in line. They sold out at like 11am and they opened at 7am. For at least the one close to my PLace. I dont really care about the price. IT may be costly but i dont really care. If theres something I want I dont really care about the price

I think it is gaining popularity. At first i was kinda dissipointed of the price but then i thought about it and, to tell you the truth, it accutally has some pretty darn good games for it. Even so, im getting a Wii first then a PS3 when it goes down in price.

edit: Well i just thought of something. Is sony does use that copy pertaction thingy and your PS3 has problems AND you played your games on it. when they send you a New PS3 you want beable to play your games on it

Are you shitting me? £600?! I mean I was going to get a Wii first because it's going to be the better console for starters, not to mention, have better games, but that just takes the piss! So far the PS3 has only shown MSG4 and FF13 to be half decent games, and FF13 didn't appeal to me that much even because it was so, sci-fi charlies angels crap again like X-2.

For those who think the games on ps3 don't look too spectacular I'll just say "duh" its still new. I mean xbox360 and wii games dont look very good either if not just slightly better than their previous consoles. But after a few years is when you'll see games really testing out the ps3/xbox360/wii capabilities. However I think the first ps3 games coming out look much better than the ones for xbox360 that are coming out now after it has already had a headstart to test their system. So just think what the ps3 games will look when it has just the same amount of time on the market.

But if you just wish to get the wii or xbox360 just because its "cheap" then go get an ps1(if they're still around) many of my favourite games were on the ps1, and it's certainly "cheaper".

For those who just think "Ï'm not going to get the ps3 because they have only mgs4 to back it up and I'm not spending money on it just for that game" What is wrong with you? Do you think the games they've annouced are going to be the ONLY ones? Seriously there will be more games to come and most likely spawn more great games which will continue and form another great series like the mgs, devil may cry and call of duty series.

Just so you know I'm not a sony hardcore fan, I'm not going to get it ASAP I just know quality when I see it. Sure Sony made a few mistakes regarding consumers but it's not really a reason to go on whining about them. The sad part is the whining is getting more coverage and turning people away from a great console.

How do you know exactly? Pretty much all the games just have trailers of cut-scnes and such. I barely see a trailer which showcases the gameplay and because of that you think there isn't going to be much gameplay? I say wait till theres some REAL info out there before you pass judgement on whether they'll be any fun.
