I don't have a smartphone. Not an active one anyways. It would be a waste of money. If I'm home I have my computer. If I'm not home then chances are I'm going to be too busy to use it. I can read emails and crap later when I actually have time to deal with that stuff. My family just uses their to glance at facebook from time to time. I think my aunt uses her's as an e-reader.
I've never heard a nice thing about mobile games. So. yeah.

I resisted smartphones back when they didn't do anything I couldn't already do, but then they got smarter so I was missing out on some useful things.
Having lots of music on my phone is my #1 reason I'd say. Then it would be web browsing and twitter and other (usually work related) services.
There will be a time when even the cheapest £10 tesco phones will be running the latest android version, the term smartphone will disappear.

I am gaining nothing from answering these questions and neither are they. This is a waste of time and I wish I never did this apprenticeship. This is literally the only year and nine months of my life that I feel I've wasted.
