I love how next generation consoles = 5 to 15 years behind current high end PC's. It makes me laugh.
I don't really know the specifics of newer consoles but I honestly think that consoles such as PS4, XBONE and Wii U
can offer a cheaper alternative to consumers. Sometimes spending £1000 on a gaming PC isn't viable and the PC is out of date usually within 3 years. My brother purchased this laptop 3 years ago for £1000 and I got it off him for £700. It's now slowing down greatly, playing many games slower and I'm lowkey worried about it going kaput pretty soon.
Another thing to mention is the switch.
I absolutely LOVE the switch and, despite it being technically worse than many consoles, it's portability is really what makes it for me.
I
really enjoy playing indie games while on a train, or even just around the house. Enter the Gungeon is a big one for me.

"Get ready for next-generation."
AKA get ready for obsolete garbage...
"But muh console exclusives."
Imagine the amount of exclusive games on PC from 1994 til now...
I'll be honest, this is a topic that people hate me for because...
wait for it...
I DON'T THINK EXCLUSIVES ARE BAD!
There's a lot of debate around Epic store right now and, regardless of their other practices, exclusives are a thing that
can drive competition.
If you want a big mac, you go to mcdonalds. If you want popcorn chicken you go to KFC. You don't stand in burger king complaining that they don't sell a Mcflurry.
Steam has had a 10 year monopoly on the gaming market and to claim that it's a good thing is senseless, considering their app is entirely just a fucking windows 95 web browser.
They offer cheap games sometimes which is nice, but I was checking out a recent sale and OH MY GOD the amount of random bullshit games.
Steam are better for the consumer and sure, gamers will complain. However Epic are better for the developer and that kinda competition is
important.
