I mean, to be fair, on most other forums, trolls would receive moderations for saying far less than he has/does. Just feels like saying "don't feed the trolls" is a piss poor excuse when you have the power to remove the troll from the situation.

I spent a little time in RPG.net. That place is straight out of Nineteen Eighty Four. The thoughtcrime police will destroy anyone who questions the regime or its rules. North Korea could get lessons on how to indoctrinate its populace by browsing through RPG.net. RPG Codex meanwhile is very permissive. The trolls and shitposters still get their punishments. They're given a badge that's displayed on all of their posts, kind of like a virtual dunce cap. I like that environment a lot more.

LOL. I'm originally from the deep web 8chan. None of you would last a day. They literally drive people to suicide. They have threads called assisted suicide. They watch people die, and laugh at it...

I'm pretty hardcore, but I avoid that content mostly. In real life no one give a shit about your feelings. No dunce bage, or tag saying shit poster / retard would have any effect on me. I've been called N words, F words, and any offensive term you can think of. Complete immunity.

RRR was pretty strict too. Even administrators were eventually banned for dumb minor shit. Thankfully RRR is in oblivion. Kinda a shame though. (Not really, fuck them)

We get an average of 3 posts a day. If I were to ban the dude he would just come back. If this were a busier and more constructive forum I totes would ban him. I personally don’t think it’s necessary but if y’all feel strongly about it we can make a poll or something

And there's Peri, I've learned so much from her about Dungeons and Dragons. 3 hours in the IRC just listening to her, I enjoyed the knowledge. She does good pixel art, I believe. I was jelly as hell at the time.

There's also Darkfire. That person had the coolest avatar and sig. He/she didn't like me, LOL. My favorite old member is Nikki. Had a Hentai game similar to mine, everyone disliked him for whatever reason. Shame we didn't get closer back then. Missed opportunity.

I had an rmxp.net account but that was back in the days of limited internet access. My family didn't have the internet at our house until my senior year in High School.
So before that. Being an "active" community member meant I visited during computer class, lunch break, and after school. And then maybe some weekends at someone else's house.
10-30 minutes. Slow dial-up speed. A reply within an hour was "fast"
God, we probably committed ourselves more because everything took so long.
